The premise of this task is relatively simple: all seven of you must each design a banner for the In Cold Blood forum. The current banner is this:

The image should be a similar size (1050x300) but can contain whatever you like. Naturally, this task is not going to be everyone's forte so any help you can find from websites and creative tools online are permitted, but I will not allow you to help each other out.

The reason for that is thus: this is a competitive challenge. hijaxers, your only responsibility as team leader will be to make sure all seven players submit a design. Other than that, you are all playing for yourselves and trying to achieve an immunity that will be given to the player that the judges deem to have produced the best banner.

It is important to consider what the theme of the forum is when making this banner:
- It was primarily set up to discuss true crime novels, television/film, historical and infamous murders, and the psychology of murder.
- The forum has since lapsed into a trend of sharing video/photo footage of crime scenes, discussing terrorist attacks, fanfiction writing about the macabre, and all things horror.

That is all. You have until 9pm on Tuesday to produce something. All designs should be sent to me via PM.

If you open an image on something easy like Microsoft Paint, you can click the resize button on there, and cut and move it about until it fills a box that size. Then just upload the image of course.

My banner is drawn as I don't have a laptop or access to one to use photoshop, sorry.

So I wanted it to look quite cold as I think the victims are all quite lonely so I stuck with shading rather than anything behind the text, I think tag lines are important because they can define a book or movie so I played on the mystery behind the game so came up with 'Fear has a new face...but whos face is it?' and added the balaclava wearing killer for a pop of colour.

My banner for the In Cold Blood forum shows a cold, cracked concrete texture to represent the dark nature of the forum. The blood splatters give a nod to the new found morbid contents of the forum in which the members literally watch people die- with the hand print being the new symbol of the sometimes gory inevitable end. The blood drop 'O' is clean and simple and fits with the theme of the forum well whilst also being simple enough to be a reference to the tamer past of the forum. The broken 'O' signifies many things, from the forum showing how 'broken' society is to broken bones of the many victims watched by the forum. A warning sign is partially uncovered and crackles as a warning for the weak hearted to perhaps step away from the dark forum. And of course 'Morbid Reality Forums' gives a nod to this forum as instead of being a forum about Reality TV, it instead focuses on the Morbid Reality of situations. I'm quite pleased with this as it makes the forum look modern, and whilst being very gritty to portray the forum- it's a clean, legible design with trendy features such as the Sans Serif font Gotham.

My banner for the In Cold Blood forum shows a cold, cracked concrete texture to represent the dark nature of the forum. The blood splatters give a nod to the new found morbid contents of the forum in which the members literally watch people die- with the hand print being the new symbol of the sometimes gory inevitable end. The blood drop 'O' is clean and simple and fits with the theme of the forum well whilst also being simple enough to be a reference to the tamer past of the forum. The broken 'O' signifies many things, from the forum showing how 'broken' society is to broken bones of the many victims watched by the forum. A warning sign is partially uncovered and crackles as a warning for the weak hearted to perhaps step away from the dark forum. And of course 'Morbid Reality Forums' gives a nod to this forum as instead of being a forum about Reality TV, it instead focuses on the Morbid Reality of situations. I'm quite pleased with this as it makes the forum look modern, and whilst being very gritty to portray the forum- it's a clean, legible design with trendy features such as the Sans Serif font Gotham.

There was a knock at the door and Helter Skelter was annoyed. He hadn't been left alone for five minutes since this murder business started and he was severely missing his life of solitude.

He opened the door and was faced with a delivery man thrusting his pad in Helter's face, demanding a signature. Helter grumbled and obliged and the Deliveryman handed over a pretty big box. Tired of being sent random clues, Helter Skelter threw the box to the side and began cooking breakfast.

As the bacon and eggs sizzled, he realised he could hear a bizarre sound like a loud ticking. He followed the sound into the living room; it was coming from the box. Confused, he opened it and was greeted with the sight of a bunch of wires connected to a black box. He picked it up and saw that a light was flashing at the bottom. He turned it over and saw a display that was counting down.

10.....9.....8...7...
'OH ****!' Helter screamed as he put two and two together and the reality of his situation dawned on him. He was holding a bomb, He dropped it back into the box it came from.

He ran to the door but it was locked, he desperately looked around for his keys.

He unlocked the door.

The light from outside shone through the open door as the bomb went off engulfing Helter and his house in flames. He was so close to surviving but Fate and the killer decided to out-troll the troll.

Kelly was in the middle of a session but he wasn't in the mood for sharing today. The anniversary was coming up in a few days and it was all he could think about.
'Maybe I don't want it to work.' He said quietly. 'This pain, this grief....it's...It's become like an old friend. It's all I have left of her. If these sessions work and this pain goes away then what do I have left?'

'You have family and friends that love you, you have a whole life ahead of you. You've got so much to live for, Kieran. I'm sure Kelly wouldn't want you to live like this.' The Doctor said sincerely but Kieran's temper flared, how dare he mention her name? Who is he to assume anything about her or her feelings? Kelly closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
'I'm sure you're right' He said diplomatically but with a slightest edge of annoyance.

'Before we wrap up, I just wanna touch on the dream situation. Are you still having the recurring dreams of the crash? Last time we spoke you said they had become more frequent.'
For months Kelly had been dreaming the same dream, that he was back in that car with his sister and everything was burning but they couldn't get out. All they could do was listen to the radio and wait for the end, it was always the same song, 'Dani California.' The last song that his sister heard. He had the dream once again last night.

'No, I haven't had that dream in a while.' He said plainly.
'Well, that's something. I think we're nearing a breakthrough but unfortunately it's going to have to wait until next week as we're out of time. I want you to remember what we discussed. Letting go is not the same as forgetting.'

Kelly said his goodbyes and left the therapist's office. He climbed into his car and turned on his music.
