It also provides an explanation for the random scene we saw of the lady doing a pub valuation in The Vic. Perhaps 2020 sees a new family taking the reins of The Vic.

The only character that would fit both comments made about the death "sending a powerful message" and "the cast were in tears filming it" is Tina imo.
She's been there long enough for the cast to be emotional about it and would link in with Linda's alcoholism being the cause.

Whitney sneaked away....she glanced over at something or someone..
But we didn't see who or what it was she looked at...then we had max brother shouting on whitney as the evacuated the boat..that was it. .

The flashbacks are silly. Should've just told it in order.
It is sharons son...She gives birth to one child, as her other dies.
Is Whitney going to be Brown bread?
she has a murder to cover up first...I think she may die though, saving linda and her trapped leg....and Mick in the process...she needs Mick to help cover up the murder...so far on the boat all I've saw in both episodes is her scurrying about in the background..they did feed a line to us from Mick though before all this..he told her after finding the murder scene that she needs to be seen at the party...she ain't doing that in the background of all the shots....imo she's seen something..
She gives birth to one child, as her other dies.

If they kill off the only living link to Den and Dennis then the show is even more stupid than I thought.
All the men in Shaz’s life being called Den
Denny to die and Shaz to give birth to Baby Dennysse?
I think Linda is in a more dire situation than Dennis after that. She doesn’t seem to have any way out quick enough whereas Ian could find the keys in time. But a door is much harder to open underwater...

I’m starting to think Linda is dead now. There’s so many little clues pointing to it being her.
She had Mick's lovely green jacket on.
Then there’s the Vic bust going down (ominous)
Mick’s wedding ring from his pocket sinking,
All the stories of the previous Queen Vic owners (too obvious)?
The last photograph, Mick looking distraught, Linda looking drunk.
When she called Mick over for the photo she shouted ‘what a lovely day to be alive’!
Last week in a row with Mick about drunken Linda, Shirley said to him, ‘don’t let her drag you down with her’ massive foreshadowing.
The Greek tragedy? Maybe she slips away from him underwater (Bourne Identity style), the tragedy is Mick losing the love of his life and he was unable to save her, but at least they both loved each other again before she went.
Is Stuart gonna save Mick? It looks like he’s pulling him onto the raft in the still shots. Nice redemption arc for Stuart, him and Mick could be mates again.
Someone on DS wrote this and it makes sense

I really don't get the writing around her. All they had to do was send her to stay with an offscreen character, but they decided to write a mystery around it with us not knowing who she was talking to.
I imagine maybe they planned for her to return with Alfie or Stacey and now the lockdown has pushed that further back.

Tbf EastEnders has always been about the women.
The men rarely get any focus (unless you're a major character like Phil). Look at Jack, his sole focus for a decade was simply a part in Ronnie's story.
Yeah EE is meant to have women at the forefront. That period in like 2015-2016 when it was only Ian, Phil, Mick and Max(?) getting story lines was so annoying.
