I hope so, he’s irritating as ****

Dont like Karim so irritating.
Think Michelle and Kelvin stole the show tonight though

21-09-2019, 10:39 PM
Michelle was outstanding
Well after all of that, I can safely say that Letitia Dean is winning this series
(imho Alex and Catherine were undermarked, Saffron, Mike and Will were overmarked, and Motsi telling David James of all people to channel his inner Sasha Fierce is simultaneously the best and worst advice that I've ever seen a judge give on Strictly)
LaLaLand
22-09-2019, 04:44 AM
Think Michelle and Kelvin stole the show tonight though
Agreed!
...the Strictly headline on my newsfeed this morning was..’Has Strictly Already Found its 2019 Winner..’...(..referring to Kelvin...)...I hate that, when a winner is kind of predicted from the off...I find it hard to sustain interest because the progression of others can be far greater than someone who has a natural rhythm/skill etc...
Especially because Strictly has already found its 2019 winner, and it's Letitia Dean
....it’s like Referendum lies all over again, MB...is this what the public will vote on...
Liam-
22-09-2019, 06:41 AM
If he pulls a Jay and gets progressively worse and more dull, but still wins because he did one memorable dance i’ll fume
...as if we thought the U.K. divide couldn’t get any deeper...hold onto your sequins ladies, this could be a bumpy ride...

God he is one of the worst dancers this show has ever had
This geezer cant move
Omg, he's as stiff as a board
bit of respect please, James might not be a good dancer but it is for sure admirable of him trying the best he can, he's never danced before in his life, never been in this glitter, glamour world of entertainment before
he suffers from epilepsy since that boat accident which left him with some brain trauma

22-09-2019, 09:57 AM
Nicky abandoning the viscountess already, theres a surprise
Twosugars
22-09-2019, 10:52 AM
i've seen no potential there, a shame as i like her personality, lifestyle at longleat, safari park
but it's nothing bad if you can't dance that well, not everyone is meant for the dancing anyway
it would be pure luck if she can avoid first boot, and a prayer for me she is first boot cause i don't want James to be that, he deserves a better moment next week, something crowdpleasing comedy maybe, just let go and have fun would be my advice for James
She showed a lot of promise and will do well
You are so disloyal its unbelievable

She showed a lot of promise and will do well
You are so disloyal its unbelievable
yes she showed a lot of promise  decent enough for a beginner
and next week ballroom possibly idk, then i can see her being among top 5, hoping for amazing pieces of music but she can slay waltzes, foxtrots, viennese waltz in the most glamorous classy way we've never seen before in strictly history
more like a princess tackling a ballroom, her comfort zone
as for the latins further on in competition, well i think samba is something what i want to see since you can dance that with more relaxed bend knees while in cha cha you needed a straightened bit stiff leg

Karim had rhythm but his routine was a bit showy

Danny's routines last year with Amy were also quite showy
maybe it's her choreo

the ones i am keeping my eye on the most are for sure Kelvin & Oti, Lady Emma & Aljaz
but overall it was a good week 1 show, and if this is the standard for the entire series then we are in for a treat
if Emma already had fun with her cha cha, i'm excited what she can do with some improvements in the storytelling, technique, and when it comes to ballroom anton might be the king of ballroom but aljaz is also a good ballroom teacher and a good latin teacher too :)

my dad's week 1 thoughts
Alex & Neil, Neil de Jaunsse as he calls Neil :joker: he liked the quickstep and he thought it was undermarked
Chris & Karen, he had some expectations of him being good but after that cha cha he was disappointed, he found him really wooden
Catherine & Johannes, he complained about the suitcases laying there being a problem with their dance, but he thought she did alright for week 1
Saffron & AJ, he said music was too fast, but it was a good performance
Mike & Katya, he thought mike isn't gonna be a good dancer pre-jive, but he was positively surprised
Emma & Aljaz, he knows her from animal park, but was shook about where she actually lives :laugh2: ''she lives in that huge mansion'' about cha cha performance, he found her a bit stiff at times, but he liked her having fun throughout her first performance and he's a fan of Aljaz
James & Luba, he was laughing how wooden james is, but i said ''don't laugh pls he had a brain injury'' but still he called it a very bad performance
Kelvin & Oti, he called their samba phenomenal
David & Nadiya, he said oh this is fun, a football foxtrot not something you would expect but it works
Michelle & Gio, he said about michelle finger pointing at craig, if you want low marks, you gotta do that, but he liked her first performance, very technically good cha cha
Dev & Dianne, one of my dad's fave performances of the night, also he likes that song especially build me up buttercup
Anneka & Kevin, he noticed Anneka being ''flat footed'' mostly, and he liked the song lyric from gloria to Anneka words as fun, and he thinks she might stay until blackpool just because she has kevin
Will & Janette, he respects will, janette is among his fave female pro dancers next to Nadiya, he liked this quickstep too, he added very good for someone with a disability which is very easily noticed in latin or ballroom dancing
Karim & Amy, he liked this, he can see karim as a potential finalist for sure
Emma B & Anton, his thoughts of the jive, poor girl to be stuck with anton who is weak in any fast dance and he didn't recognize this song from ABBA, he thought it was from someone else :joker:
Morgan.

True, but he doesn't do the choreography. Amy does.
The funny thing is last year Graziano was too much of a poser and sadly his celebrity suffered because of his poor direction . And even though he was the pro it seemed like it was all about him .
And remember the way Aston was stitched up in the end , and he was one of the best in the competition.
Just hope Karim doesn't get let down and i hope he tries to focus more on technique and less on looking pretty .

ItalianStallion, Da Visage has got the perfect TeamItaly song choice, ''that's amore'' perfect for viennese waltz too
i wouldn't be surprised if they end up top of leaderboard on saturday :smug:

I wouldn't worry. Amy is very focused on teaching technique. On the cha cha she had to make it stand out, because it's not the most exciting dance.

this year is gonna be so hard for me with the ''saying goodbyes'' week by week cause i like most of them
i somehow cringe watching Anneka & Kevin due to her being taller than him, she does try her best though and that is what i do applaud
James, somehow i hope he does slightly better than that tango, has more fun, because even if going out, you want to go out having took more risks, had fun
Catherine & Johannes, i enjoy watching, a shame the suitcases were a problem for the technical dancing of the viennese waltz, so hope there are no props as obstacles during her samba this week and show your sexy side pls, samba needs filth, but don't look at kelvin's samba, just be yourself still, and show us your samba Cath
anyways i cannot wait for saturday, and also sundays results show with lewis capaldi

I legit had to Google who she was :joker: , I'd never heard of her & never watched her YT channel . In fact I didn't know who some of the celeb contestants were this year :conf: .
But I noticed Saffron's performance wasn't that great , it felt very average & like it was missing something.

that david guetta song for alex, i thought of that as too slow for cha cha
while other guetta songs suit cha cha better like ''without you'' or ''when love takes over''

''who are we looking forward to the most tonight''
i basically look forward to all of the couples, but i guess Posh Queen Emma & Aljaz mostly, because i hope her hard work this week pays off for the tango and bc of them being my main fave i like following this journey, and again i hope for a fun longleat VT
but my top of leaderboard prediction, i think emma b & anton could have highest scoring dance of night, but kelvin staying on top of overall leaderboard

Nicky91
29-09-2019, 07:30 AM
okay all my thoughts (my honest thoughts) first of all i bloody loved the show again
Saffron & AJ, i thought she did do a great job at the correct leg action, i did see hip action unlike Craig, it was a good performance as well i scored it a 8 out of 10
Anneka & Kevin, Massive improvements from her cha cha, she also looked gorgeous in that dress wow i scored her a 7 out of 10
Dev & Dianne, loved loved loved it, finalist material for me personally i scored it a 9 out of 10
Emma W & Aljaz, i didn't get the theme behind the performance, technique wise it was okayish i think maybe too overambitious idk, dress was gorgeous on emma anyway i scored it and yes i was honest about the performance in my scoring 5 out of 10, if basing it on how she looked, her efforts it would've more been a 7, but i gotta remain honest
Chris & Karen, Good fun entertaining charleston, it put a smile on my face a 9 out of 10 from me :clap1:
Emma B & Anton, there were a couple of mistakes too apart from the slide, also it is very noticeable when there are mistakes because then anton starts dragging his partner across the floor with that big smile on his face a 4 out of 10 from me sadly
James & Luba, 100% better than the tango, loved it how he had fun, a 7 out of 10 from me
Cath & Johannes, i did not see any volta's, it more looked like a cha cha or salsa also johannes should've toned it down a bit for catherine to keep up he outdanced her and it was so visible a 6 out of 10 from me
Michelle & Giovanni, Gorgeous performance, no seriously a delicious viennese waltz to look at, also loved the attention for detail at Italy, with the boat, nice bit of storytelling, technique was also good, character check a 8 out of 10 from me i liked it
David & Nadiya, i liked your effort at the paso, but it all came across as pedestrian yes a paso you can still move a bit more across the floor, you need a mix of walking and dancing, that makes the paso extremely difficult a 6 out of 10 from me
Karim & Amy, this was a pure foxtrot in ballroom heaven, also love the clean shave on your face, classy classy classy a 8 out of 10 from me, you are one to watch my dear :clap1:
Mike & Katya, i expected to be worse, but i had a good laugh with this cowboy linedancing homage, but as a american smooth it was not good, still good entertainment value though, great choreo Katya, i enjoyed it 5 out of 10
Alex & Neil, nice straight leg action, judges were a bit harsh, however one part i saw in performance looked like jive technique not cha cha or did i see that wrongly, still enjoyable performance 7 out of 10
Kelvin & Oti, this was lesser than your samba, but respect for doing such a gem of a classic song masterpiece justice a 7 out of 10 :clap2:
Will & Janette, undermarked by judges, i liked the concept, i liked the choreo, i love your fun character Will, i believe there is more in you than just being good in fun upbeat dances, i wanna see your vulnerable side in the slow dances 7 out of 10
RileyH
29-09-2019, 10:33 AM
Karim deserved 9s
Black Dagger
29-09-2019, 10:53 AM
Viscountess would've more deserved a 2 from craig, not a 4 (overmarked) :idc:
even Jerry Hall danced with more life :bored: not gonna go into that route again myself, i already made that mistake once with Daisy lowe
i won't let her ruin my fave show, i rather just pay attention at who's good :hee:
Who are you trying to impress really?

Who are you trying to impress really?
no one lol, i'm just not being biased anymore, i need to be honest as a Judge myself
her tango was not my cup of tea

Why is it biased for having a favourite?
Don't make fan clubs in the future then if you can't stick to them.
Nicky91
29-09-2019, 11:03 AM
judges can't have favourites ;)
and my fanclub is genuine, i like her outside of strictly, she's just not a dancer i Judge her on her dance qualities/potential and she has no potential whatsoever, as craig said to judy Murray, ''rigor mortis'' sort of dancing
i doubt she'd even care about her elimination, she already has enough around longleat, i don't even think she'll do the tour, with her busy schedule, regarding modelling, managing safari park, and longleat's events, cooking vlogs
the 4 finalists are michelle, karim, kelvin, dev ;) they are miles ahead of all the others now, and i can see a will, saffron getting to semi and quarter finals based upon their dance journeys
Morgan.

results show i look forward to the flamenco group dance routine, lewis capaldi performance with aljaz/janette dancing to his song
btw even though i am honest, harsh to viscountess emma, i still like her but i just don't want to make a dance seem better than it actually is, i rather stay truthful and yes i do hope she gets her breakthrough moment soon, because somehow it is there
she needs to combine fun from cha cha, with determination from tango and she's onto a winning combo
i thought the tango she took it too serious, while in cha cha i loved how she had mostly fun
btw Katya's country/western outfit looked HOT  mike's outfit though the cowboy from village people

Michelle doing cabaret :flutter: gonna be fabulous, idk what dance cause you can do a foxtrot or a tango, or that more faster song for a charleston
Viscountess Emma making me laugh last night  with her ''salmon'' actually glad she made it to movie week, and i'm hoping for a nice movie that suits her smiley personality, i soooooo badly want her to have that moment, cause i agree with Motsi, if everything becomes perfect she can give us a few wow performances
i still love her, i actually admit i fancy the viscountess, i only am harsh at her dancing, but because i know she can do better, the potential being there

Im hoping that the winner isnt going to be clear from the first few weeks. It would be easy to assume Kelvin or Karim might have this in the bag but last year was the BEST year in my opinion as NOBODY believed Stacy would win. I loved her from the start and was both surprised and delighted she won. So many years the people who shine at the start go on to win

well one of Alex, Catherine, Viscountess can still be in the running if one of them gets a wow moment soon
Stacey also started off middle of pack and started working upwards and solidly staying among the top contenders which were Faye, Ashley
so now Karim, Kelvin are this years Faye, Ashley the frontrunners
