We've reached Week Three of Strictly, which can only mean one thing... It's time to roll out the red carpet for Movie Week!

It's going to be cinematic, dramatic and completely fantastic, featuring routines inspired by Frozen II, Dreamgirls, Star Wars, Hercules and even The Simpsons Movie! Make sure you've got a whole load of popcorn ready for this small screen spectacular.

While our 11 couples will be putting on their best performances, unfortunately another pair will be packing away their dancing shoes this weekend. So make sure you're ready to save your favourites when Claudia announces the vote is open towards the end of the show - you'll need to head to the Strictly homepage to cast your votes when that moment comes.

okay my thoughts on movie week

first of all very emotional wonderful James Bond group number, this was filmed at first lockdown when they were household, but i loved Tess, Claudia mentioning this as a nice tribute to Sean Connery


Nicola & Katya: a jive is supposed to be fast (Nicola seemed slower than Katya, not in sync either, but holling after her, i feel like when she gets to the slower ballrooms we will see her lack of elegance, lack of musicality even more)

Maisie & Gorka: major improvements for me personally compared to her first two dances, much softer, elegant, but it can still be even more elegant and then i think we look at a true ballroom queen

Caroline & Johannes: very enjoyable performance, also Caroline was perfectly into character, but i agree with judges she can take more risks now for even better scores, and i think she could slay more if she tries to come out of her shell more

Jason & Luba: undermarked for my opinion, star wars theme isn't natural paso music, but i personally saw some very nice paso movements so kudos on Luba with this choreography, Jason's smile well he's just a happy person, and he was a little overexcited too with one of his childhood fave movies so i forgive him for that, the knee slide, and the jump with the knee were spot on paso showy moves, very good for a novice, definitely didn't deserve the 3 (boo you Craig)

JJ & Amy: some might call it boring, but i find JJ very charismatic in the ballroom, wish he could take this into the latins and we can see some improvements there too from him, i adore his personality too

HRVY & Janette: too little cha cha content? i quite liked this performance, very cute cheesy gnomes, very enjoyable for the tv viewer and that is the more important, cannot wait for next week, and yes i am starting to love his personality too (first thought he would be bit arrogant, but comes across as down to earth to me now)

Ranvir & Giovanni: this was good, but worthy of 9's? are they serious, i mean it was a technically precise executed foxtrot, but i preferred JJ's more because it had more storytelling, and that for me is more important in movie week, but this is very typical Gio with his technique over storytelling

Jamie & Karen: little or no swivel present, and when there was swivel it was very bad, flat footed quite a few times, also Hercules well LOL, even Mark Addy is a tougher Hercules than that, the lifts were very awkward, not deserving of 8's BY FAR, probably them trying to make him avoid dance off again or something lmao

Clara & Aljaz: song does not work for a tango, more a disco cha cha, she looked stunning though, and she is lucky there were some worse routines probably

Max & Dianne: FAB-U-LOUS Darling :clap1: attention for detail check, in sync all the time check, fun and energetic check, chemistry check this was a good breakthrough for Max i tell you

Bill & Oti: why does Tess say this is entertainment, i wasn't laughing at all, i LOVED THIS, Great Western Paso, and the guitar solo was also divine and added the extra flamenco spanish touch, i can easily also see him being in the final if he keeps up like this, also love his studying of all the dances :clap1:

We rolled out the red carpet for our Strictly stars last night, and they definitely brought some cinematic brilliance to the Ballroom!

From Hercules dancing the Charleston to Elsa performing and ice-cool American Smooth, it really was a memorable evening of movie magic. However, it was Ranvir and Giovanni who stole the show with their Dreamgirls-themed Foxtrot, bagging them three 9s from the Judges and the highest score of the series so far!

Not far behind them were Bill and Oti, who took home a score of 26 for their Western Paso Doble inspired by The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

Down the other end of the leaderboard with a score of 12 were Jason and Luba, whose Star Wars Paso Doble didn't quite light up the Judges, followed by Nicola and Katya in the penultimate spot with 19 for their Grease Lightnin' Jive.

Our 11 remaining couples have done all they can to keep their place in the competition, but tonight one unlucky pair will be saying goodbye to their Strictly experience. However, before we send them on their way, we'll be treated to a beautiful Remembrance Day routine from our Pro dancers, as well as a fantastic appearance from The Kanneh-Masons.

ok, first of all Anton is fabulous as a judge, bit of good humour, i kinda saw him channeling Len too :love: i do know he has gotten quite some advice from him

now the performances


HRVY & Janette: lifts were phenomenal, hips were hot however hips are not really important in salsa, i loved one important factor, loads of good rhythm and on point with the music all the time, amazing

Ranvir & Giovanni: i feel for Ranvir, that she couldn't get technique right, cause the music is perfect, i prefer traditional music for cha cha over pop songs

Max & Dianne: kinda middle of the road, i did enjoy his efforts of showmanship, swing and sway and i agreed with Anton, that arm placement was wow for a novice

JJ & Amy: harshly undermarked, shame on Craig and Shirley not recognizing a oldschool Jive, this is the actual Jive as it was danced in the world war 2 times, i liked this a lot, JJ can dance, and Amy gave him the correct choreography, steps nothing too difficult, good job Amy :love:

Maisie & Gorka: must say i didn't like the robot like theme, also i agree with my dad, top half is amazing, but lower half she has like those weird legs, i do am warming up to her personality and chemistry with Gorka though

Bill & Oti: Funkaliciousness, darling :clap1: it had me standing on my feet, also loved the VT, with some of his past footage, i love Bill the musician more than Bill the comedian although his humour is sooo my cup of tea :clap2:

Caroline & Johannes: Princess Caroline looked elegant, charming, beauty of a choreo by Johannes, the feet maybe not perfect but it can become perfect with other ballroom dances to come

Clara & Aljaz: i feel sad there is nothing negative i can talk about, this was perfect, easily deserving of those scores, @Morgan you got taste having supported her since launch show, i'd say she might be in it to win it, no ringerness, the journey contestant vibes oozes her loads, yeah i'd say she is a frontrunner

What a Show, there was 3 or 4 performances that I really enjoyed.

Considering the circumstances with Covid, Strictly is holding up a lot better than expected.

My rankings for week 4.

1. Bill & Oti - Street - He is definitely having the best collection of dances so far imo. They've all been enjoyable so far.
2. Jamie & Karen - Samba - Definitely his strongest dance so far imo. The dance really suited him in my view.
3. Clara & Aljaz - Charleston - I've always defended Clara and last night thankfully proved my point.:laugh: A fantastic performance.
4. HRVY & Janette - Salsa
5. Maisie & Gorka - Cha Cha Cha
6. Max & Dianne - American Smooth
7. Caroline & Johannes - Waltz
8. JJ & Amy - Jive - Four dances in and JJ has not excited me once so far. I'll take a guess that the public will love him, but his dances haven't done a thing for me personally and that Jive last night was very minimal in Jive content imo.
9. Ranvir & Giovanni - Cha Cha Cha - Again 4 dances in and she just seems to get more and more beige as it's going along, and last night her dance was overscored in my view, her dancing was way below her usual standard and certainly shouldn't have been scoring higher than JJ and similar to Max and Caroline imo.

JJ had loads of real jive content, this is what a real jive is, rather than all those fake modernized jive with kicks/flicks, this is a real jive from world war 2 era, and it also was traditional jive song so, great choreo from Amy :love:

I'm saying that most Jives that I've seen take the Rock n Roll path with a bit more of a kick to it, rather than JJ's approach which felt more like a Jazz and Charleston fusion.

Fair enough, after all the beauty of shows like SCD is that we all see things differently.

And after all I'm grateful to all of the contestants that have decided to take part this year because I reckon that Strictly struggled to get volunteers to take part in the competition so I'm grateful that people like JJ have helped the show be made this year.

We're bringing Blackpool to Elstree!


We may not be able to make the trip to Blackpool's terrific Tower Ballroom this year, but we're definitely bringing the spirit of the seaside to the Strictly studios tonight. Illuminations, deckchairs, donkeys... you name it, we've got it!

Our eight remaining couples will also be sprinkling some Blackpool magic through their routines as they dance for their place in the competition. We've got Quicksteps, Cha Cha Chas and Salsas coming up in a matter of hours - and not forgetting our first Argentine Tango of the series!

But will they do enough to make it through to another week of Strictly? Once all of our dancing duos have performed, it's over to you at home to vote to save your favourites.
