now onto the pairings, my faves first

Caroline & Johannes, i find Caroline classy, i saw bit of character potential, elegance in group dance, her footwork was okayish work needs to be done on that but i already find her a better match with Johannes than Catherine last year was

HRVY & Janette, best pro he could've gotten, since he hasn't got much muscle, and she is the shortest of the pro's, do think they have potential but i dare not to say much regarding the ballroom dances given Janette has ****** up before with that


Jason & Luba, i think this could be something too, i think he is very hard working to improve, also think he could be the one american who might win over GBP votes, given he ain't a ringer unlike Ashley, Michelle


now who positively surprised me (more or less)

Bill Bailey i mean personality wise my god Oti really has a handful on him, his over the top expressions, dance wise in group dance he seems very light on his feet lol, and i knew as a musician he must feel the rhythm so yeah he has potential to be better than completely hopeless

i know i said stuff at his celeb reveal, but he got rhythm for sure, and i do no longer just see him as a comedian, but this shows he is also a musician at heart :love:

i kinda watched bits of launch show again

i actually like it more now than last few years

Clauditorium like this feels much more relaxed to watch rather than it being so crowded


i do not miss the audience, some were too shouty, too noisy with the clapping, but i do like there is a bit of audience still

the judges seats are a improvement too, and pls keep this 3 judge panel from now on, also a relief, no bruno falling from his chair phew

that we get scores mid 20's from now on with 3 judges will be different to get used to but its what american version has been doing for years and also lets dance germany has 3 judges for a long time, so we will see few single figures scores lol especially if Craig gets his 1 or 2 paddles out


i luv Claudia a lot more now (same reason as what i said of clauditorium space)


the celeb/pro pair reveals are much lovelier like this rather than how it was done at first, also keep this even when it's normal again


we will probably get training VT's before performance solely, no comedy vt's which is also a really good thing :love:

I love Strictly.

However for me I like to see who isn't that strong at first then how they progress.
They have less time to in this series unfortunately.

However, I'd be marking on improvement too, not just those who are good at the start and remain so.

This looks overall a good set of contestants this series.
So good luck to them all.

I've no favourite as such as yet, there's individuals I like as celebrities, however I ain't seen any of them dance yet.

Looking forward to it, good to see the BBC have at least one thing worth watching the next few weeks.

no my fave performances were by Caroline & Jo (simply beautiful, luv her attention for detail too) Jason & Luba (underrated and i strongly disagree with Craig, this was not hip hop, but motown soul and not all motown is jackson, it was full of joy which fitted that song perfectly) and Nicola & Katya :love: very nice the switch up who was in the lead too

Bill & Oti are hilarious, yet i find him technically not bad either, his lines are kinda over the top but his leg was as straightened as it could be which is good for cha cha

Ranvir well that is also one way to sell a Paso stunningly, almost looked like a sort of Bhangra/Paso dance, i mean outfits looked typically bollywood either (my dad agreed with me)



i luv the clauditorium a lot more now, i luv the training only VT's (FINALLY) also nice intro bits where they say something about their partner

intro tune and poses also very nice (HOT HOT HOT leg action there from Caroline :drool: )

as long the HRVY fanclub does not put too much faith in Janette's choreo skills (or must i say lackings at choreo skills especially in the ballroom)

and i do not like her whole commando approach to teaching her celebs choreographies

HRVY would've been better off with someone more relaxed (i mean Dianne even if it would've been similar to Joe, or a Karen whom i kinda liked last year with Chris which was surprising since she can be rather annoying)

Max & Dianne 6.0 okayish tango for week 1 standards i've seen worse, way worse in past series and i trust Dianne to work on dance techniques with Max in next weeks to come

Clara & Aljaz 6.0 it was nice, sassy performance, legs could've gone little straighter maybe

Jacqui & Anton 5.0 not a complete disaster, and respect for her efforts at handling the hat, cane props

JJ & Amy 5.0 it was cute, underwhelming but cute, also nice we saw our people's strictly champ Cassidy Little again :love:

Maisie & Gorka 7.0 very nice samba bounce action, for week 1 standards

Jason & Luba 7.0 cute, full of joy, maybe technically not perfect but very enjoyable routine

Ranvir & Giovanni 7.0 positively surprised, i expected a disaster but this was good

Nicola & Katya 7.0 very fast, good movement what you expect from boxers to be good at quickstep

Bill & Oti 6.0 over the top performing, but decent amounts of cha cha content

HRVY & Janette 10.0 Perfection, just crown him the winner already, but first ditch stupid hag janette

one let's dance germany twist week i personally like they would introduce to strictly as well is the Challenge Dance, dancing with a prop like (being tied together, or a chair, or feathers, or a hat or something else and that you cannot get rid of this prop but having to dance with it the entire routine)


i mean being tied together can work really well for Contemporary, Rumba, Argentine Tango :think:

the hat, can work well into dances like Charleston, Jive

the chair you can use for Tango, Rumba, Argentine Tango

Feathers for Salsa, Samba, Cha Cha Cha

it would make a nice idea also for BBC to take over from RTL Deutschland

2. Maisie & Gorka - Tango
3. Bill & Oti - Quickstep - Surprising to see him technically do a solid dance.
4. Clara & Aljaz - Viennese Waltz - I liked it personally, I feel like the judges should've given her at least an overall score of 20 imo.
5. HRVY & Janette - Viennese Waltz
6. Caroline & Johannes - Paso Doble
7. Jason & Luba - Salsa
8. Ranvir & Giovanni - Quickstep
9. Max & Dianne - Jive
10. Jamie & Karen - American Smooth
11. Jacqui & Anton - Samba - Technically it should be bottom, but I found it more entertaining than JJ's dance personally.
12. JJ & Amy - Paso Doble - I loved the idea of what they were trying to go for, but for me personally it just didn't get executed very well, in fairness though a Paso in week 2 was probably a harsh dance to give him as loads of contestants over the years need to time to build up charisma and put it in their dances. Great song choice as well.

Jason & Luba's Salsa :love: :love: i disagree strongly with Craig i saw loads of good hip action, also energy throughout the routine, very nice

JJ & Amy's Paso, very strong efforts at such a tricky dance for a novice with a disability :clap1: also Prince Harry can be proud

Bill & Oti's Quickstep, huge surprise this was phenomenal, technically wise but it also looked like very good fun

HRVY & Janette's Viennese Waltz, i am in love with his ballroom look, so charming, classy, elegant :love:

Caroline & Johannes's Paso, it was not hot or sexy lol lol, but again very strong efforts at this dance, when i knew Caroline would struggle with latin dances, i agree with Jo, she did great

Clara & Aljaz, i disliked the Paso elements, tooo aggressive facial expression for a soft elegant dance as a viennese waltz

Maisie & Gorka, it was too fast for my liking, also more emotion next time Maisie, it kinda felt lifeless, robotic in places

Nicola & Katya, although it was good, this routine did nothing for me

don't worry anyone, the no audience isn't really bad (i mean i am used to it from lets dance germany earlier this year)

you still have clapping from other couples, and who knows maybe BBC has got some of their crew there too to clap after each performance


i also luv the Augmented Reality thing for this year, boosts performance quality of each dance for the tv viewer (since u are doing it for them solely now)

the performance director told Gethin we might be in for a couple more spectacular weeks (this one of tonight included), since they already have wrapped up all of the group dances beforehand, what they normally are also busy with in a normal series

for me basically all of them but based upon some themes which are my faves

- Bill's attempt at Paso and playing Clint Eastwood, gonna be interesting if he can pull off another fab routine

- Jason as Luke Skywalker and Luba as Princess Leia, also luv star wars theme, basically any John Williams soundtrack i very much love :clap2:

- Max & Dianne as Homer & Marge, well huge fan of the simpsons myself so kinda excited for that

- HRVY & Janette as Gnomes, haven't seen the movie yet, but i like garden gnomes, have many of them in my garden, and that elton john song, well i personally like the cheesiness in a elton track

- Jamie, everything i think of Hercules now, i think of Mark Addy :fan: his character in atlantis :laugh:
