Expecting one of the top 6 (minus Tottenham) + Leicester to win it.

Maybe West Ham if they can challenge the big 5 and not suffer silly losses to weaker teams.

tbh Brentford's best shot at survival is if Burnley, Wolves **** up, and i guess Villa isn't unbeatable either

so those should be main goal to win those matches, and fight for some points against some of bigger teams (but tbh the bigger team matches aren't important results wise since you only need enough points to avoid relegation, even if its barely avoiding relegation)

Man City's win odds are already ridiculously low according to oddschecker.

Liverpool, Chelsea, Man Utd next. Then a big gap followed by Tottenham, Leicester, Arsenal. After that the others.

I don't see Liverpool contending. Their supposed excuse for the dismal performance this season was the injuries but Leicester honestly had the same level and still nearly beat them in the table.

I think it's between City and Chelsea.

We had no defenders till like feb and had to play midfielders in defence so taking into account we still finished 3rd with 3 very inexperienced young defenders is amazing tbh we will have a much stronger defence and hopefully a much stronger midfield and attack especially if we replace Gini with a goal scoring midfielder and replace Origi and Shaqiri with Daka and Raphina and bring Elliot into the first team fold we will be in a perfect position to regain our title

city have the best strength and depth which will always put them at an advantage over the others. Also, with the euros on through the summer, there will be next to no break for the top players which always leads to fatigue and injury.

I think many of the players are looking jaded already, the exception being chelsea last night, but at what cost

Rashford will miss the begin of the new season

will receive surgery on his shoulder and is unavailable until end of October

Rashford hoped for the surgery immediately after the Euro's but surgeon who will do this is only end of this month available again

No one can tell me Ghendouzi, Joe Willock, Saliba etc are not good enough to get into this team. The manager wouldn't know a good player if he tripped over one in the street.

He's got till October but if we lose this and the next two are Man city and Chelsea. I reckon he's be gone if we lose all three. Antonio Conte is available and its hard to argue against a manager who has won titles with three different clubs in two different countries,

Tottenham striker Harry Kane is not in the squad for his side's opening game of the Premier League season against Manchester City.

Kane has been heavily linked with a move to City, whose manager Pep Guardiola has previously declared his interest in signing the 28-year-old England captain.

Kane, who on Friday trained with the Spurs squad for the first time since returning from holiday, has made it known he wants to leave the club he joined as a schoolboy.

Being serious though I would laugh if Tottenham wins the league once Kane goes.

And to go to my Grealish bashing (as I can't resist) his played two games now for Man City and it's been 0 assists, 0 goals & 2 defeats in all competitions, sure the team will be in the top 2 by the end of the season, but Sky Sports obsession with him being a mix of Cristiano Ronaldo/Messi/Harry Kane/Mbappe/David Beckham/Wayne Rooney/De Bruyne/Lewandowski/Lukaku/Glenn Hoddle/Paul Scholes/& Paul Gascoigne/Trevor Francis isn't coming to pass (which in fairness is impossible)

I swear Sky Sports blatant bias towards Grealish is driving me up the wall, I honestly would just quietly think that he was a little bit overrated but not say anything on here about it (like I've done with loads of other players in the past) if Sky Sports weren't having an orgasm every time that he just touches the ball, it's deeply irritating and surely I can't be the only one that finds it annoying?

Oh, I see Aston Villa is from Birmingham also.

Fair enough, I understand now.

Just last year, I found out Everton and Liverpool are from the same city.

Tbf if you're not from the country it's gonna be hard to tell imo. I probably should've clarified the Blues and Villa rivalry awhile back for people that aren't from the UK so apologies about that.

Tbf with Everton & Liverpool, they're more friends than rivals, I tend to find that they both hate Man Utd more than they hate each other.:joker:

Oh how did I forget he is also like Eden Hazard!

How did you guess?:joker:

Honestly I don't begrudge him his move in the sense of Man City are a big club that's winning ****. Plus it weakens the Vile.:hehe:

Tbh it's the Media that does me with him, even at the Euros we were getting ITV talking about how every woman wants to be "Mrs. Grealish" or the fact that he had a great Euros when all he did in the entire tournament was dive and pass the ball to Harry Kane once.

I can't believe I'm saying this but if Grealish plays against Villa and isn't injured or suspended, I think that I'd actually root for Villa to win just to shut the Media up about how much weaker they are without Saint Grealish.

Villa may be even better without Grealish as they’ve spent the money plus more very wisely .. they now have two real goal threats apart from anything else .

That said once Grealish settles in and gets into the groove with KDB they will be unplayable..

Ronaldo, Messi, De Bruyne, Kane, Mbappe, Aguero I also highly rate, also I highly rate Van Dijk.

Imo Grealish doesn't match any of them, although in fairness him and Van Dijk are completely different players.

And again in fairness to Grealish nobody can be a mix of all of those players that the Media compare him with, so it's understandable why those of us that are skeptical about Grealish do laugh at the Media (mainly Sky Sports) man crush on the guy.

I mean lets be honest do you Zizu see Grealish as a mix of Ronaldo/Messi/De Bruyne & Mbappe?

Arsenal well something is very much wrong in the squad but i don't know what, i also don't think it is Arteta to blame for either

somehow he is not the one who decides on transfer policy, that is the sports director's responsibility and who is that over there?

although here at PSV, we first had our sports director John de Jong with transfer policy, we flopped big time, and now we let manager Roger Schmidt more have a say on which players come in and immediately we buy amazingly good players :fan:

Man Utd & Chelsea also wanted Kane, but Kane chose Man City that's why it's appearing like only Man City are interested in him, because they're the only team he is interested in joining at this current moment in time.

And with Ronaldo & Aguero I don't care what drama's either of them have got going on behind the scenes, Grealish still to this day can't get anywhere near the skill of either of them imo, especially Ronaldo.

Which no offence but I can't believe I just had a debate about who's currently better between the best player in the world versus Jack Grealish.

He changes his options all the time so much that it's impossible to know what he really thinks.

Or says what he thinks first and then backtracks when there is resistance/backlash.

OK, it's confirmed.

This Grealish guy is being overrated. (Currently at least.)

his wonderful free kicks, his amazing ability on the ball. Ronaldo was a class act from the moment he arrived at Man U.

I don't like him, he winds me up, but he has been an amazing player throughout his career. Grealish isn't of the same class. Grealish is not a patch on what Ronaldo was like at his age

Cronaldo has always played for great teams with great players - Grealish has carried Villa since he was about 19 years old.

You people are well out of touch as regards Cronaldo's free kicks !!

Since 2018 Cronaldo has scored just TWO free kicks out of 136 attempts !!!!!

Laughable if we're being totally honest .

Incidentally in the same time frame Messi has scored 30 free kick goals .

Everything else aside the guy is comparing Grealish with current Cronaldo and KunA

Fake Ronaldo has never ever been the best in the world .. he’s just an amazing athlete , with an amazing work ethic with some decent talent thrown in .

Take away his athleticism and his flaming penalties and his tap-in goals and what’s left ?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

The fact that he is so athletic is a credit to him imo, if the other players aren't as athletic then that's their problem not Ronaldo's.

And the fact that he does have a great work ethic, is great at penalties, is a great free kick taker, and can get in the position to score tap-in goals on a regular basis is a great argument as to why Ronaldo is the greatest player in the world. Plus the fact that he has been a brilliant player in the top 3 leagues in world Football which even Messi can't claim.

Btw I say this as someone that has taken issue with some of Ronaldo's behaviour in the past, but imo he is definitely a contender for the best player in the world, and certainly better than Jack Grealish.

The current Cronaldo is a shadow of himself nowadays- Two free kick goals out of 134 attempts ain’t world class imho

He’s been told that he’s not even gonna be guaranteed to be starting many games thus season and will likely be coming off the bench .. the manager prefers to go with Morata and Chiesa - again not world class .

That’s why he’s looking for a move away ..

Remember he’s chosen the soft options each move .. left a dominant ManU for a more dominant Real Madrid who were spending huge amounts of money at the time - then moved to an incredibly dominant Juventus ( won the title ten years on the trot ) .. now surprise , surprise he’s looking at PSG or ManC :)

It’s not really important who started whatever ..

My point is that ‘currently’ Grealish is better / more effective than both Cronaldo and KunA.

QUOTE=Mystic Mock;11087118]
And with Ronaldo & Aguero I don't care what drama's either of them have got going on behind the scenes, Grealish still to this day can't get anywhere near the skill of either of them imo, especially Ronaldo.

and signing CR7 is a mistake for Man U, but i don't care, at least one less threat for Man City and Leicester

Ronaldo will go down as the biggest transfer flop this season i think (i mean going from Serie A to Premier League, yeah how on earth can that go well :umm2:)

Hopefully Arsenal can get out of the rot that they're currently in.

3% Possession in the last 5 minutes of the match has got to be very concerning for Arteta (or a new Manager) because I don't think I've ever known a team get dominated like that before.

Personally if I was Arsenal before the Transfer Window closes I'd get Pukki off Norwich, Mings off Villa & maybe swallow their pride and get a Man Utd reserve player on loan like us & Norwich have done, preferably a midfielder in this case like Mata or Van De Beek.

Also personally without meaning to be disrespectful, but instead of going for Aaron Ramsdale I'd have gone for Martinez from Villa, I hate to say it but he is a very good goalkeeper for them, or if not him then I think that Arteta should've looked at Jordan Pickford after the great Euros that he had.

Hopefully though Arsenal get back to winning ways.
