Hope you are keeping my favourite stool free for me tonight - I'll be calling in for a large one after doing late night shopping at Asda 'helped' by OH tonight.

After that I will definitely be in need of some R and R. Any entertainment tonight Boris?

Boris
18-12-2003, 08:18 PM
I'll sing for yu if you like Busy Bee.

Hmmm, that might might put the other punters off. I don't know though. I might be able to get a certain young Irish gentleman to accompany me . That might please a few Young and old.... ...what do you think. This was our last duet a few weeks ago.........

BusyBee
18-12-2003, 10:22 PM
Boris how on earth did you find that picture of me:blush::blush:

Oh how I need this drink tonight. I have spent over an 1 hour listening to OH tell me that we didnt really need 'that' and then for me to turn round and find he's filled the trolley with 'things we just cant do without'. (Or things he cant do without)

Oh I feel frazzled. I hope Paul was more helpful when he went shopping with Helen.

BTW are we having a Pop Idol Final party on Saturday. Any excuse for a party is what I say.:elephant::elephant::elephant::elephant:

Boris
19-12-2003, 08:55 PM
How about an 'end of term' party ?

I am just about 'Christmased' out after the past 2 weeks in an Infant School. It is the oddest thing in the world to pack it all away before it has even been celebrated at home!

I need a large drink amd a quiet sit tnight.

Lets party tomorrow night..................YES?

How many days left 'till Christmas?????????????????

:sleep::sleep::sleep::sleep::sleep::sleep::sleep:: sleep::sleep::sleep::sleep::sleep:

Think I shall sleep right through it all.

No visitors here this year , but after OH 's behviour last year it is hardly surprising. At least various 'brave' mambers of the family have invited us to their gathering and that means I don't have to do any cooking. Silver lining in black cloud I think.

:dazzler::dazzler::dazzler::dazzler::dazzler:

Maybe I will open the bar instead LOL:laugh:

Sticks
22-12-2003, 02:47 PM
Since we are announcing holidays here, I need to flag that I will be disappearing on Christmas Eve in the morning back to head office, and for the moment I will be away until the evening on 7th January (A tad too long and I am trying to get time reduced on good behaviour) :bawling:

Boris

I am trying to get time reduced on good behaviour)

Good Luck Sticks...we will miss you and so will the coffee drinkers. I am afraid with the staff shortage due to the 'bug' that has been going around we won't be opening the 'coffee shop' on your behalf. We will have the old expresso maker under the bar for those hardened drinkers who can't do without !

:sleep::sleep::sleep::sleep::sleep::sleep:

Think I must be talking in my sleep.
Out for supper tonight with OH....Hmmmm!

See you all tomorrow have fun.....

Can we have a little less noise tonight please - am feeling a little fragile. A little convivial company would go down well though.

In competition for Boris's tonight as we are having a party. Anyone free and in the area can pop in. I've done enough food for 'thousands' as OH says. That is after he came in weighed down with bottles, but of course they are 'essential'.

Sister bringing her kareoke machine - so heaven help the neighbourhood, there will be some odd noises coming from chez BB tonight. LOL.

Hope to see pop in to Boris's tomorrow.

It HAS been a bit quiet tonight, Boris . . . . think most folks are abstaining because they're back to work tomorrow. :bawling:

Never fear - I've used the time to change the barrels, re-stock the mixers, and polish up the glasses in preparation for the pre-Hogmanay rush!

So Boris's Bar is ready and waiting . . . . . . . what's your order? All tastes catered for!

Hope we didnt disturb you too much. I raised a glass or two to you all in the Bar. Trouble with parties is the clearing up afterwards. :nono::nono:

Still I have had plenty of practice for the New Year's Eve do at Boris's. I may have my voice back by then. Do you need any balloons blown up - we've got a very clever gadget that does it in seconds.

In the meantime a nice Irish coffee please.

Boris

any good for Wednesday night?

As long as no one tells the 'kitchen' inspectors. They are such 'fuddy duddies' about 'use by' dates and the like. I am sure we can use all your left overs. Bussiness has been so bad and every little helps.

Lets make it a giid night on Wendesday. Any suggestions for the entertainmnet side. The Entertainmnments manager has been a bit lacking in her input thisyear. Has a touch of 'Kaphc's' disease I think.....

Duchess you must have popped in on one of chef's (very infrequent) off nights. I am usually there to oversee his offerings, but must have been otherwise engaged that night, probably sharing a tipple or two with Boris.

He takes great pleasure in catering for all our culinary needs and is always trying new recipes for our delictation.

Good luck with your interview BigSister - another one for us to keep our fingers crossed for.

If you are serving large ones Boris - can I please have the biggest Brandy and Lemonade you can rustle up.

I have had a horrendous couple of days. - As I said I got a pay rise last week, well they have certainly been making me earn it. On Friday a really long running case which is due to be heard in London on Tuesday went belly up so I spent Friday, Saturday and this morning in work trying to get everything ready to go to a new barrister tomorrow morning. Its all ready now but I am absolutely k-nackered.

So I desperately need that pick me up Boris.

Can I have a large G&T please?

A twist of lemon, and just a little ice, but in a chilled glass.

I can't drink it, but I'd like to watch you pour it..........slowly.

The clink of the ice in the glass, the click of the optic as it dispenses the second measure.........

The sudden 'phizz' of the tonic water bottle being opened....

The effervescent surge as the tonic meets the ice, followed by a sudden stillness.

The gentle splash of the lemon, the soft clink of the ice as you place the glass gently on the table in front of me.

Now, the anticipation.......

Watching the condensation running slowly down the glass an droplets soaking and spreading into the paper, marking the place of the glass so that when I pick it up you I know I can place it down in exactly the same place.

Now I reach out my hand, and embrace the glass, steeling myself for the sudden damp chill of it's contact. Even though I know it's a dark January night I can almost feel the sun on my face, hear the whisper of the warm breeze in the grass and the distant lazy drone of bees.

Slowly, I lift the glass to my lips.

My eyes close, and I stop for a moment to feel the tiny sprinkle of bubbles on my nose.

Then I open my eyes, and watch, hypnotised as the light dances on the ice.

I notice the man sittin opposite me at the bar, bearing an uncanny resemblance to Thierry Henry.

He is also transfixed, but not by the drink. His eyes bore into me and I feel my neck becoming suddenly hot.

I slowly lift the glass a little higher and touch the nape of my neck, and look up, unable to resist the intensity of his stare.

His eyes meet mine, and I unconciously gasp.

I feel suddenly weak.

Cautiously I bring the glass again to my lips, allowing a little, a very little of it to touch my tongue.

It is enough. My head clears, and I place the glass slowly and deliberately down, exactly where you first placed it for me.

I know he is still watching me.

I lean forward, my elbows resting on the bar, thankful that I chose a top to display my decolletage to it's best advantage.

I dip my finger into the glass, and lift it to my lips as I lift my eyes to meet his.

I run my finger slowly along my lower lip as I look deeply into his fathomless eyes.

He smiles enigmatically, and lifts his glass.

'Salut!' he calls softly, as he slips from his stool and begins to walk towards me.

Trembling, I lift my glass in reply and at last take a long, cooling sip.

'Salut', I murmur, my eyes locked with his as he moves ever closer.

I start to rise from my stool, my heart racing, scarcely able to breathe.

My heel catches the rung, my elbow
slips from the counter, and my drink floats up majestically from my hand.

I watch, as if in slow motion, the glass and it's contents take a seperate, parallel upward course before inevitably losing their fight with gravity.

Sitting on the floor of the bar, I marvel at the sheer volume of the contents of the glass, as I pull the delicate twist of lemon from my cleavage.

OK, so I didn't get the drink, and I didn't get the vav-va -voom, but look at it this way: I'm still on the diet, and I can still dream.

Night all!:wavey:

That roaring fire in the corner looks very appealing tonight Boris. Just right for toasting marshallows. Baggsie my seat in the corner. How about producing some mulled wine this evening.

Just what we all need on this cold winter evening.

I would be careful though as it looks as though you might have accidentally 'acquired' some glasses from a rival establishment

A girl has to make ends meet somehow!!

And Sticks you are casting aspersions on my establishment. Kettle indeed !

It is NOT just a kettle it is an expensive piece of kitchen equipment the just LOOKS like a kettle !

Just to let everyone know, I am off for the weekend at a church planning retreat in a forest somewhere in Northumberland. (Being picked up at 16:00 hours)

It is a three line whip so I have to go. Looks like the coffee drinkers will have to put up with Happy Shopper Instant :bawling:

No problem with the coffee I'm more than happy to bring in my coffee maker - after all instant coffee is just not on for the high class clientele that frequent this establishment.:nono::nono:

BTW on the radio the other morning they were talking about a comedy kettle that when it boils gives a message from people like Jim Royle and Bungle, Zippy and George. No one of those could be quite a talking point.

HEE HEE HEE!

I am a grump this evening. I have just been to visit the dentist. Not only did he find something to deal with - what a surprise now that I have to pay through the nose for EVERYTHING - but the pain and agony he inflicted eith the injection were something I have yet to recover from.

He hit the nerve!

Not only did he hit the nerve but everytime he moved the needle to try to avoid it he hit another bit. I now havea numb:

ear
cheek
lower lip (complete)
tongue-3/4
eyebrow
toplip-half
left side of throat
left side of neck
difficulty swallowing

he said he had not done it so thoroughly in a LOOOOONG time.Did I

Yes please Amy.

Need cheering up, just returned from a trip to London for the day to watch the Chelsea/Arsenal match. Our senior partner is a big Chelsea fan and has front row seats in the executive box which means free three course meal, free refreshments at half-time and after etc. etc . Though not a patch on the delectations offered by Boris. Anyway this week I had the tickets and they lost.

Still at least Bristol City won again.

So bring on the champagne Amy plus a few canapes would go down well.
