Tibb big brpther 2013 Quiz will start on the 3rd October
Benjamin
26-09-2013, 11:59 PM
I have decided to not run Apprentice 4 so if anybody wants to take that then they can.
Also, I will not be running Elimination 9 next year, so if somebody wants to take over then feel free. I think my hosting days will be on a hiatus until further notice.
Raph, are you still running Alliance 2 in October?
Yes! Applications will open real soon
Jake.
27-09-2013, 07:25 AM
Ben that's a real shame! I'd love to run Elimination but obviously it 100% falls down to your personal preference and what not
Kate!
27-09-2013, 09:08 AM
I'll take Apprentice back on. :D I'll plan it for early next year, can it be penciled in for February?
Jake.
27-09-2013, 09:22 AM
Oh I always thought that I was doing Coach Trip in Feb but it's in Jan
Kate!

Let me know when you've firmed up dates Jake and I'll make sure we don't overlap. No rush, plenty time yet :)

When do you guys think the best time for the next pub quiz would be? I'm happy to take over if Greg's not interested. Also don't think there'd be any problems with clashes because it's an entirely different game and doesn't require as much time as The Mole/ICB/TIBB BB/Alliance
Kate!
27-09-2013, 10:37 PM
It'd be great to look forward to in January Shaun after the Christmas festivities leave us all flat? I always feel peeved off in January lol.
Jake.

Good news all around:
I've managed to find a way to defeat Shazam. It's a little long-winded but worth it if the obligatory "music clip" round is to remain a feature in both In Cold Blood and the Pub Quiz I intend to run :) It just required pitching the mp3 of all of the clips (which I first put into one file LOL)... the songs are still recognisable to human ears, but Shazam, which was identifying the songs even when I reduced them to 3 second clips, cannot.

(if anyone wanting to run a game using a similar task wants to know how to do this, I downloaded 'GoldWave' (a free sound-editing software) and used a "pitch" under the Effect tab, and just entered in a random percentage... don't say what percentage otherwise the extra-pesky TiBBers could download it and try to alter it back  (even though that would require hellish maths skills LOL))
Tibb big brother 2013 quiz has now started

I think it's nice when the host is varied, you get a different type of quiz every time, so yeah go for it! I think January would be really cool, something to look forward to in the new year when the forum's a little dead!
Think February/March time would be better, CBB will be on in January
Kate!
03-10-2013, 06:52 PM
Can the Apprentice be penciled in for February please?
Kate!
03-10-2013, 06:56 PM
I'll also be looking for a team to help with the Apprentice
Shaun? Will you be Sir Shu Grr again?
Also 3 'judges' and a host for You're fired?
Please pm me if interested in any of these roles.
I'm planning to have all the tasks etc ready before Christmas then I can concentrate on applications etc.
Kate I may have a few simple ideas for you, but I don't wish to run The Apprentice. Too much effort
Kate!

was avin a chin wag with nathan about my old music sharing game and came up with an idea:
I did think about having a thing like "TiBB hotseat" where one person is selected (who has participated regularly) and they share 5ish artists that they think would blow TiBB's MINDS but I don't think it'd work because everybody secretly hates everyone here.
was wondering if it'd get enough interest?
Jake.

its this game website but id only follow the concept roughly
basically there'd be about 12-14 players or so
an hour nomination "flash' vote, where housemates nominate others for the block, and the one with the most noms is placed there
a task in which the loser is placed on the block, and the winner gets to decide a third person up for eviction
then a housemate vote over the next day for the evictee, resulting in an eviction pretty much every day or every other day
that'd be the format for the first half of the competition

Is there no way we could monitor it to make it less argumentative? Like an opt in option and then have it in a private sub forum for the night to keep it off the main board so guests can't view it?

James
23-11-2013, 10:53 PM
I didn't really want to put this up for discussion (as it will inevitably cause more trouble) but seeing as it has been mentioned already.
These are the reasons I can think of for not allowing Razzies.
There are controversies on the forum that would come up again during Razzies that I don't think we need to keep re-visiting.
There is a cliquey thing going on at the moment, and, as we have seen before, block voting would happen just to make sure certain people 'win'.
I think on the one hand, Razzies reward infamy on the forum and people acting like idiots. On the other hand, others might feel like they are being picked on and not want to come on again. We don't want to drive people away.
That's fair enough I suppose..

can we not just do it off site :amazed:
It may happen.. Then the more immature members will bring their razzie issues onsite and it'll all be awful anyway :bored:
can we not just do it off site :amazed:
;)
..with respect James, I think it’s equally as likely to ‘drive people away’ when they’re constantly feeling that decisions are being made about things that have been ‘tradition’ for a while and that they’ve enjoyed and by an admin that doesn’t seem particularly interested in the forum unless it’s to ‘take something away’...maybe if members felt that this was more of a MOD decision because they were against it and felt it caused too much trouble/hassle, because they do know the forum..then it would be easier...but yeah, you’ve made your decision ....so I don’t really have anything else to say...
..and this is from someone who never even votes in them but can definitely see that balance is needed and the Razzies gives it in a more structured way than it being more ‘spread out’ and seeping through threads....
It saddens me that one of the forum's longest running award ceremonies (perhaps it's the longest running? I'm not sure) has become a scapegoat. The Razzies have always remained a light hearted thread designed to poke fun at antics on the forum. They have outlasted all of the forum's dramatic episodes because the people involved in those situations either got over it or stopped logging into the site. This has always been the case - the thread itself is not the issue, it's the members who attach a negative stigma to the thread that are the issue.
I think it's blatantly clear that the same small group of users who just cannot resist having a dig at each other will continue to find ways to do this regardless of whether the Razzies exist or not. In the case of the Razzies, this will manifest itself in several ways: by making a huge statement about opting out; by intentionally nominating things that will piss certain people off; and by making snide comments about the two aforementioned things on the night of the awards.
None of that is the fault of Matt or the Razzies Awards. The blame lies squarely with those users who just can't let their problems go. It's the exact same problem that dogs the Most Loved thread every time I run it - 90% of the forum enjoys it for what it is - a chance to learn a bit about people you don't know and to celebrate all that's good about this place and the people who use it. 10% of people like to turn it into a slanging match by taking the opportunity to make snide comments about others. I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't allowed to go ahead either because Most Loved is also turned into a scapegoat every time this happens.
Kizzy

Structured? It's a bitchfest simple as, the guy gave his reasons so no matter how it's justified or dressed up the fact is it isn't happening.
Was looking forward to the razzies :(
Structured? It's a bitchfest simple as, the guy gave his reasons so no matter how it's justified or dressed up the fact is it isn't happening.
And it's only a bitchfest because the same people can't stop fighting with each other all the time. It's only been seen as a bitchfest in the last year or two because of the same trivial **** that 90% of the forum userbase has no opinion on nor cares about. D'you know what my reaction was when I won a Razzie last year? I laughed and enjoyed the thread. I didn't take it personally because it's an awards ceremony that pokes fun at forum characters.

As someone who completely misunderstood the Razzies last time and opted out of them, I have to say I wouldn't have opted out this time.
well after it was over,I read most of the event and found it overall to be really humerous and in the main good natured, even with people not happy because they didn't even win the less 'nice' categories.
I was actually looking forward to it this time round.
Certainly from all I read as to it, far worse happens even on just general threads and topics.
It is just my opinion but it is clear that is really popular with some members who have been involved with it for years, so for me, I would like to see it happen definitely,if any change of mind is at all possible.

Sounds like a laugh, I was looking forward to it aswell.
But what's done is done I just think it's fruitless arguing about it otherwise this will gain another 10 pages of squabbling in 1 night and give people a good reason to get rid of most loved aswell.

I don't beleve that... from what I've seen an heard it's nothing more than a forum witch-hunt.
Good for you that you laughed zee, as james said not everybody targeted takes it so lightheartedly... I thought you out of most would be able to understand that?

"targeted"
This is exactly what I mean Kizzy. The only reason it's seen like that is because of **** that most of us don't care about. It was never about "targeting" anyone until people with a vendetta made a song and dance about it being so, and I think that's reflected in Joeysteele's response - a bunch of people were misled and then realised that actually, the Razzies aren't this full throttle fight to the death arena that some people were making them out to be. It is not a forum witch hunt.
Don't get me wrong, I understand why people wanted to opt out, because they didn't want to be targeted. I get that that is what the status quo has become now on the forum. But it's only that way because a handful of people can't resist making digs at each other.
Kizzy
23-11-2013, 11:55 PM
But wasn't that what opting out was for?
You would think, except the next thing was to treat those who opted out like a leper... which ever way it happened some people were going to be made to feel targeted, ridiculed, and otherwise ostracised.
I haven't been here long myself reece, but that's how I saw the razzies reading through past threads and speaking to those 'awarded'.

I understand that fair enough, what I'd do with that would be to say if someone's opted out their names are not to be mentioned again whatsoever and consequences would be to follow if someone was to keep flogging a dead horse and bringing up opt outs.
Basically just sick of going into threads that existed long before certain forum member issues and finding out that the threads are the ones to be deemed the problem when the problem is with the people, not the threads.

Misled?... How was joey misled.
The razzies have gone on for 6yrs zee. Are you seriously suggesting I manipulated the whole forum against the razzies?
You contradict yourself by saying some are targeted...I know they are all I've done is point that out.
It happened before I was a member and it still happens.
Basically just sick of going into threads that existed long before certain forum member issues and finding out that the threads are the ones to be deemed the problem when the problem is with the people, not the threads.
I'm in favour of the razzies but I do think some threads bring out the worst in people.
For instance if I made a thread titled 'what characteristic don't you like in people' I would eat my hat if it wasn't shut down or mineswept by the time it hit page 3.
That's not to say I think the Razzies does because like I said I've never seen it and was looking forward to it.

I understand that fair enough, what I'd do with that would be to say if someone's opted out their names are not to be mentioned again whatsoever and consequences would be to follow if someone was to keep flogging a dead horse and bringing up opt outs.
Well, that didn't happen.
That started the 'some people' comments... 'some people' are killjoys 'some people' are trying to ruin everything 'some people' shouldn't be allowed to view the razzies!
What that meant was, we're furious we can't stick pins in you so we'll do it indirectly instead.
This is only my view understand, I'm not speaking for anyone else.
It's how it appeared to me at the time.

Aah, hi Kizzy,:xyxwave:I don't think Zee indicated I was misled, I said I misunderstood the Razzies and that was why I opted out last time.
Having seen the completed event, I thought it overall full of good humour and it was my choice to opt out but I would not if it was done this year.
It is good to laugh at yourself at times and get some less than positive banter but it was my own fault that I misunderstood the Razzies, I feel Zee only meant that maybe others too had misunderstood them from what they had heard as to the Razzies from likely many others possibly not just one person.
I opted out and never again went on the thread again during the event, I only glanced through it once the Razzies were all finished and done after a good while later.
As I said, I found them really humerous and was looking forward to them this time round.
Most things bring out in members, as I am sure you will likely agree with this too, things they agree with and things they don't.
The good thing is on most things, if we don't want to be part of something we can say so and opt out as I did last year and indeed as some do even in the Most Loved poll too.
Misled?... How was joey misled.

Misled was perhaps the wrong word to use, I meant that he misunderstood what the Razzies really was because of all the negativity surrounding it, due to people opting out and hyping up just how awful it was supposed to be, when really it's intended as a tongue in cheek award ceremony to remind everyone of the funny and embarrassing moments over the past year.
I don't think it's your fault Kizzy, I never said that. In fact as far as the current state of affairs goes, I put the blame squarely on the bickering between the same small group of people (and all distributed evenly, I don't believe anyone is more to blame than anyone else), which then created the "opt out" phenomenon, which then fed back into the constant bickering between the same parties who cannot give it a bloody rest. I quite honestly do not give a **** about why you, Jesus and Glenn are all so determined to snipe away at each other in every thread on the forum because I like you all individually and I think you're all fantastic contributors to the forum but it just really pisses me off to see the Razzies take the flak when the real issue is not a forum awards ceremony that is based on the real life Razzie Awards but the people who cause the drama surrounding it. It's madness to suggest otherwise, in my opinion.
I don't think I'm being at all contradictory and I really didn't want to name names because it's probably going to cause more aggravation which isn't the intention at all. I'm fairly confident I speak on behalf of most of the forum when I say that none of us care why you three constantly pick fights with each other, all I really want to see is the Sports forum get worst sub forum again, is that too much to ask :(

Zee specifically said some have a vendetta and some were misled, he misinterpreted your comment saying you misunderstood joey which as you say was not down to any one person.
Thankyou for clarifying that.
I don't understand this negative balance, there seems to be enough negative balance on here already tbh.
One thing is true all there are things some agree on and some they don't, I don't like the razzies and that's all it is.
If others do great, it wasn't my idea to stop them.

zee, I appreciate your honesty... And I think you're great.
You're right, there are people who don't get on...
That's probably contributed to my dislike and distrust of the razzies as I can see it causing even worse confrontation on the forum.
Holding people you don't really get on with for mockery and humiliation is never going to end well is it?
That's probably why lots of people got banned following previous razzies?
I wanted to try and avoid that if I could, did I think it would rumble on for this long after?... no.

I seriously think some aren't happy unless they are ripping someone to shreads.

Seriously though the issues surrounding The Razzies are so blown out of proportion.
If you don't like them, and don't wish to participate, that's fine. Like, absolutely fine. I can understand why some people may wish not to and I'm sure other people understand too. But why does this mean that everyone else then has to suffer because of it? Because some people don't like them, and because it apparently causes so much drama (when it lasts for one evening, then maybe spills over one or two extra days before everyone forgets about it)...yet there's drama all year round over issues that aren't even related to the Razzies? Arguments are always going to occur on forums, TiBB is never going to have some sudden burst of utopia where everyone gets along and sings You've Got A Friend. Realistically, is that going to happen anywhere on the internet? No, and so none of these attempts to curb the problem by cancelling these long-running and what are intended to be light-hearted and humorous award ceremonies are going to work.
It's quite simple what the solution is, and I still don't know why this hasn't happened yet despite being suggested by many. You can opt out if you wish, that's perfectly understandable, but if that's the case you shouldn't be allowed to participate in or comment on the thread whatsoever. More to the point, why would you want to? If you don't like something or have no interest in it, and this goes for most things in life, why would you continue to want to talk about it? That makes no sense. The Razzies should be a private thread for members only (perhaps with a certain number of posts), so immediately that gets rid of this bizarre idea that new members would be put off by reading these awards, and it should also be private only to those members who haven't opted out (or, if we really must go this far - members that have opted in, so that way everyone that wishes to take part has actually specified their consent and has absolutely no reason to complain at any possible results).
That way those of us who view these awards for what they actually are, a humorous and light-hearted look at some of TiBB's funniest or most stand-out moments from the past year, are able to do so. Only those people who have given their consent can be nominated, so anyone that doesn't want their issues being dragged up doesn't have to, and anyone that has no interest in or doesn't like The Razzies isn't a part of them, because that's what they've asked for. It remains a strictly private thread where the results are discussed within that thread only, and if any discussion spills out of it after the results, then people are quite rightly infracted/banned, which solves the problem of it causing problems on the forum once it has finished.
The resolution seems quite logical to me, why we must get rid of a yearly tradition just because it's 'offensive' to like three people who usually opt out anyway and because it apparently causes drama which already exists on the other 364 days of the year regardless...is, in all honesty, beyond me.

I don't think there's anymore I can say apart from i'm bracing myself for some kind of fallout from this.
James tried the opt out thing and it didn't work or it would be happening again?
He and zee are right, there are just people who just don't get on.

Benjamin

Structured? It's a bitchfest simple as, the guy gave his reasons so no matter how it's justified or dressed up the fact is it isn't happening.
The whole point of opting out or in is if people don't feel comfortable taking part don't have to. Many of us don't mind being in it and take it with a pinch of salt like we have done for years and those who feel so strongly about it have the choice of not being part of it. Their sway on it then becomes null, but yet again something else is ruined because a group of ****ing whiney, moany half wits have nothing better to do then nit pick at things despite the fact they are some of the worst ****ing people on this forum and a massive reason people hate this place.

No only a couple of those who opted out made themselves feel like that beacuse they then carried on acting as if the razzies was effecting their lives when in all honestly nobody really cared they opted out until they kept going on and on and on about it.

I did say a few (not all) that opted out. A select few who did were the main cause of the arguments last time along with the couple of others who were still in thriving off the sniping. The arguments last time really had nothing to do with the razzies but just another excuse (as if one is ever needed) for the cliques to get one over on each other.
Most of us are not involved in the petty battle that goes on between these cliques yet we have to endure it on here pretty much everyday and then things we look forward to are then ruined because of it.

The opt out thing 'didn't work' because those who opted out continued to participate and comment on the thread. That's it. No discussion. That is the reason. And I still to do this day can't understand why those people chose to. Actually, I take that back because Joey opted out and he didn't post once in any Razzie related thread, and I remember I had a lot of respect for him for doing that, because he didn't want to participate and so quite rightly chose to get on with contributing in other areas of the forum that he was interested in.
If you actively make a point of not wishing to participate in something, why would you then continue to talk about it? There really isn't any logic to that. I don't like Dr Who, I don't watch it and then go into threads to talk about how uninteresting it was to me and how it needs to be cancelled because I have no interest in it...because that's counter productive and is ultimately, well...um...petty. Pointless? Even ridiculous.
No one has any issue with people opting out, or not wishing to opt in, that's cool and is those people's prerogative. But if you make a point of distancing yourself from these awards, then you should follow through on that and not post in the threads, not comment on the awards, have absolutely no participation in the event at all...basically everything you requested in the first place.

I don't understand how someone can have such strong opinions on the Razzies, put a downer on the whole thing, but chooses to have no part in them anyway?
If you want no part in them, keep away from the threads and any conversation about them. In my opinion you lose, for want of a better word, the 'right' to have any say so if you choose to opt out. It's something I never understood with a few members after the Opt Out feature was introduced. Deciding they wanted no part of them, yet hell bent on on sniping in the threads etc. My mind boggles.

I tell you what is hilarious, if I'd written half the posts in this thread since Matt made the announcement, I'd have an inbox full of infractions.
People can blame me for whatever and I don't give a s**t, and all this false equivalency does my absolute head in. It shows how lacking in understanding and insight some of the people on this forum really are. Start a thread asking for help and everyone rushes in, have a genuine issue and everyone rushes to condemn you. I've already opted out of all future versions of all games like Razzies/ML/Awards because of how much hassle it is for me personally, and the s**t it causes the forum, so you can all ****** off if you want to hassle me about loving the drama. Let a small select group get back to choosing who's turn it is to win these things.
That's what kind of a ******ed up community this is. Shaun constantly bitches about people on here, yet nothing gets said, and with insults far stronger than little snipes. But that's ok - he's been around longer and is part of us, and he runs games.
I can be an arse at times, no denying, but a lot of the people I've had issues in the past with will also note how quickly I've been to apologise and talk it through with them, but I do this sincerely and away from the forum, so no one hears about it. The ******ing holier than thou revisionism is hilarious.

Well far be it from me to put my size 5s in,but I opted out too,I cant even remember much of it tbh,but if we are shooting from the hip here,I will say I think Kizzy gets a very unfair ride on here, all she does is state her opinions which is supposedly what a forum is about and she sucks up to no one,so please or offend I kinda admire that,I dislike the way some are scared to say what they REALLY feel for fear of a ban,so maybe don't blame it on certain individuals, afterall it takes two and lets face it Kizzy gets loads of flack as does Chuff,we may not always agree with what they say,but we have to get past that.I myself get really angry sometimes,I just stay away as sometimes it's pointless trying to get a point across,I think Kizzy is a good member we need a few Kizzys/Chuffs.the only reason I opted out the razzies was because I feel its a bit silly but I would never want it stopped because of that(just incase anyone is pointing a finger at me)and ben as much as I like you,I was surprised at that outburst, chill man:hugesmile: You can all shoot me now

Kizzy can be a good member but she often has a chip on her shoulder and looks to pick a fight. And over the last year the sniping between a few members seems to take over a fair few threads and it is not fair on the majority of us who don't give a **** if they hate each other yet we have to sit there and go through it time after time after time and watch as threads/events then become ruined.

There are alot of people who follow fashion and dont speak their mind tho.
I know i dont do that, i just have a preferred bunch of people i like talking too.
I also do agree with Kaz that a lot of people do hold back because their scared of a ban but yeah, sometimes the members you find annoying can be known as a great member in other people's eyes.
I have people on here who i can't stand lol, but if im in a heated debate, after I've calmed down abit i then realise its a forum and your gonna have people you don't agree with or dont nessecarily like. Or in Ben and Kaz's case have opposite opinions on a particular member.

This is so true, some members get not even a day ban forwishing death on a member whilst other members get a worse infraction for saying an album is flopping. Thats the reason the infraction 'points' have dissapeared
This is pure facts :)

Yeh I got a bit of a shock when I first joined here I was getting banned left, right and centre. I've had to tone it down a bit and now I've been unbanned for quite a while. But if that's what it takes to keep 'order' then who am I to complain I've never run a forum before so I don't know what it's like lol

This is said constantly and is quite honestly bull**** tbh, the members that don't get on here don't want to and that's it, they will argue day in day out because it's what they want to do, they thrive off of drama.
The same goes for all the 'we need a private thread' etc, no we don't because it would be a novelty that would wear off in a few days for the simple fact that there would be no rule breaking and no audience.
Far too many on here are too quick to blame others for the things that happen and can never ever take any responsibility for their own actions.

Then why is more not done about it? Not to question you moderators (so please don't take it as an insult) but why are they allowed to still be here ruining threads and events time and time again for the rest of the forum who are causing no harm to anyone? I ask that as a sincere question, not as a dig.
The whole reason the Razzies is banned because of the arguing but I'd rather have a night of arguing then a year like we have just had of this constant bickering/sniping that occurs in many threads. That is more off putting then anything else.

Things do get done about it Ben but we can't force members to like each other and you know we don't hand out massive bans for petty arguing, lets be honest if we did then there would be no one posting.

Locke never saved anyone's picture, that image had been posted on here before and he used the link, incase you haven't noticed Locke is on a ban for posting that picture the other night so members aren't 'allowed'?

No you did when I made a post about some people being favoured on here and for some reason you waltzed in going " I wonder who he means" and when Kizzy called you out on it you accused her of poisoning me. To me that was it and since thenWe haven't spoken to each other apart from on a topic where I told you I'd rather not talk to you anymore and that's the way it is now and that's fine by me. Anyway back to what this discussion was originally about.
With the Razzies could we not just trial it this once with an Opt-in method and have it in a private sub forum (like the pub quiz team rooms) to keep it off the forum?
Most of the drama didn't come from the actual awards itself.

:worship:
..with respect James, I think it’s equally as likely to ‘drive people away’ when they’re constantly feeling that decisions are being made about things that have been ‘tradition’ for a while and that they’ve enjoyed and by an admin that doesn’t seem particularly interested in the forum unless it’s to ‘take something away’...maybe if members felt that this was more of a MOD decision because they were against it and felt it caused too much trouble/hassle, because they do know the forum..then it would be easier...but yeah, you’ve made your decision ....so I don’t really have anything else to say...
..and this is from someone who never even votes in them but can definitely see that balance is needed and the Razzies gives it in a more structured way than it being more ‘spread out’ and seeping through threads....
Sorry, in my opinion this is utter piffle :conf:
Well, that didn't happen.
That started the 'some people' comments... 'some people' are killjoys 'some people' are trying to ruin everything 'some people' shouldn't be allowed to view the razzies!
What that meant was, we're furious we can't stick pins in you so we'll do it indirectly instead.
This is only my view understand, I'm not speaking for anyone else.
It's how it appeared to me at the time.
It's my view as well, which won't be a surprise to anyone.
Right, I'm not in here to start arguments.

This is exactly what I was talking about last night. This feud is growing old now and it is so dull. Of all the things to put people off the forum this is the main one yet it feels like nothing is done about it, yet culling the razzies is a solution.

I'm happy to leave it. But pretending you didn't have a hate blog/forum for a year before Scott did, where photo's were taken from here and abused, where fm'ers and mods were slagged off continually on a loop is nonsense.
I called out false equivalency earlier, and this is the prime example.

But bringing it up all the time on the forum just means the same old **** gets rehashed all the time and nobody ever moves on from it. I'm not blaming anyone for whatever problems there are, nor taking any sides, I'm simply asking that all of you just let the anger go and continue to post on here without pointing out each other's misgivings and flaws all the time - when you're not having a go at each other, you're all making really great posts around the forum and it's a nightmare to post on here when arguments are in full force.

False equivalence. I've hardly contributed in this thread despite the fact I've been brought up a few times, yet that's the issue? I haven't been a regular contributor for the last few months, so maybe a few others need to look at themselves as well rather than searching for scapegoats.

I'm happy to leave it. But pretending you didn't have a hate blog/forum for a year before Scott did, where photo's were taken from here and abused, where fm'ers and mods were slagged off continually on a loop is nonsense.
I called out false equivalency earlier, and this is the prime example.
Oh sod it. Pipe down now please - Marcus also started a forum which was full of foul mouthed abuse and tirades. Yawn. Give it a rest.
And for the record RTV is now a private group thing unable to be accessed by any but a select group and it's peaceful, Tibb is rarely mentioned
This is exactly what I was talking about last night. This feud is growing old now and it is so dull. Of all the things to put people off the forum this is the main one yet it feels like nothing is done about it, yet culling the razzies is a solution.
You say that like it's our fault but you were a Mod while it was going on as well so you know how difficult it is to deal with. We can't force people to like each, or to get on, or to drop their hatred of each other. And we can't just permaban everyone who's been involved in the whole thing, as this thread shows we already get moaned at enough for apparently being too heavy handed with it all, handing out too many infractions, closing too many threads etc.
People talk about wanting private forums threads to sort their issues out but if you ask me no one has shown they're capable of doing that, who each member dislikes or what issues people have with each other is their own problem to sort out, it's not the job of the Mods

I said it feels like nothing gets done, meaning that they carry it on so often it feels like nothing is, not that you guys don't do anything. I defend the mods with respects to their roles, and will continue to do so as I know how difficult it can be especially with regards to this.
But it annoys me that of all the things that ruin the forum this is the biggest one of the last year and it is still carrying on today, yet the rest of us have to endure it if we want to post on here. The Razzies has been banned because it puts people off the forum, yet it is a one night event, this feud has been over a year and has done a lot more damage than the razzies ever will.
Yeah, right. It's my fault we can't have nice things. I'm the one that;'s done all these things and then ran away from the fallout.

It's not your fault. It's the constant bickering's fault - and that stems from the fact the two halves of that problem don't want a resolution. You are more than capable, as are Kizzy, Kate, Glenn and whoever else has a problem, of contacting each other and settling your differences. I mentioned you in this thread because yes, I think the four of you are the prime culprits for keeping this feud on-going. Kate's actually withdrawn herself from it and it's only in this thread I've seen her acknowledge it, so kudos to her from removing herself from the situation.
Give over, you post here just as much as you always have done and the forum is a better place for it. You're a great poster, your posts are intelligent, well thought out and your sense of humour is always appreciated. I'm not going into threads having the same arguments with the same members - when I don't like another member, I put them on my ignore list and don't respond to them. It's that simple.

Glenn and I have reached mutual truce status on this whole thing anyway, which is a positive and something I never thought in a million years would happen.

I'll hand you and Glenn that, you two seemed to have moved on from it all. Which is great, now if the others could follow suit and take a leaf from you two.

It's the same person who keeps bringing it all up despite all four of us being on final warnings though. We were told categorically that if any one of us continued to bring it up and make digs that would be the end of the road, I don't see that happening?
I'm respecting it, so should Jesus or the stated consequence enforced.

I've written a reply to this, but if I post it, I'll have some moderators claim I'm attacking them for doing their jobs, some posters screaming, and you asking me why I had the cheek to write the truth out again, so your call. I'll pm it if you want, if you don't then that's equally fine.

Or you could just get over it?

If you have something constructive to say that will resolve the problem that has been on-going for a very long time, then I would direct it towards the people involved in said feud - I don't wish to receive such a PM.

You're a sly ******er when you want to be. You of all people know I keep my word when it comes to agreements about ignoring each other, and "getting over it".

Well stop bringing up the same **** time and time again. It's time to move on from it, it's been way too long and it really is a dampener on this forum.

Then do me a favour and address no more posts either at or to me. I'm good at keeping these agreements, and you can sample that first hand.
