same here MTVN they are such lovely animals and so abused by some.

they have to though, their are certain animals (cats mostly) who will never be adopted because they're too old, or not cute. They need the room for animals that have more chance of being adopted

It's a 'down side' but I guess, the fact that they are run only on charitable donations ..... with no other funding at all, without it they cannot operate - I guess that makes it very difficult especially when they are so large, and given the services that they offer overall.

Maybe...but the Chief Executive of the RSPCA is on a salary in excess of £100k per year so maybe they could think of better ways to spend public donations?? This is the same with a lot of charities - their staff are on mega money but they guilt trip people into parting with their hard earned money....I try to pick local charities to donate too where I know the money will get to where it should and not in administration and salaries

I don't disagree with you.... Oxfam are one that work on the same premise: years ago (don't know the most recent breakdown) - used to be that only 10p in every £1 went to the actual charity: the rest on admin/salaries/advertising/overheads etc.

It's one of the main reasons I don't give to either of these particular charities.
