I've heard it so many times here on BB forums and digital spy and the rest... the second most common accusation (after being 'fake') is having a gameplan. People react as if having a gameplan = you're a bitch = want to win. Wanting to win is a cardinal sin when it comes to Big Brother apparently and means you've got a gameplan.
What's so bad about that?
The whole show IS A GAME.
It's just like playing football with a strategy. Is that bad? No. So why is this?
Do people expect 93 days of people not wanting to win 100k? Not trying to win our approval? Not trying to avoid being nominated week after week?
You NEED a gameplan to win a gameshow... thats the point of a gameshow! TO WIN.

What are your thoughts?

It is if you play with other people's feelings like john is doing with josie. In fact I think it's only right when everyone's knows you haves gameplan e.g. Victor and Rex not wen you've got half the viewers believing you're for real

If that's what John James is doing then it is wrong but you are only assuming that he is. I mean why do you think he doesn't fancy her? He's spent practically all his time with her in there, he got really upset when they fell out (which looked pretty genuine to me), all the evidence is there to support the fact that he does actually fancy her.

Yes he was upset coz he loves but he is not in love with her he does not fancy, josie is/was like a sister to him and I remember last week he said he'd never looked at her that way but now he is saying I've always fancied you, it doesn't add up, he is playing a clever game and it seems to be working but he hasn't got me fooled

From what I can gather, he could be genuine. Josie is his best mate and if she went, I believe he would walk.

I really don't think he is using Josie, but as said above, I can't be sure.

No one can be truly sure how the mind of a housemate works. You can only go on what you see, and one person's perception isn't the same as another person.

I'm sure his goal isn't to fool you anyway so that's ok! Peoples feelings can change though, it's happened to me before, you like some one as a person but the thought of romance doesn't enter your head until the other person expresses feelings and then you do start thinking about it.

But having a gameplan comes with such a bad reputation and smart housemates KNOW that to have a gamplan means you'll be hated = not win.
I doubt the real clever ones actually admit to it, when they know how negatively it comes across. A good gameplan has got to be undetectable, but now everyone is accused of it and so its impossible to do that. Neither Victor or Rex won, partly because I believe they were so vocal about having a gameplan. I loved them for playing the game, but I wish they'd done it in a more subtle way, then they might just have won.

I did a thread on this ages ago - EVERYONE has a gameplan, of course they do. EXCEPT that some of them don't try to fool the public with fauxmances and storylines, or ride roughshod over other people's feelings in order to get to the prize.

JJ1 has the best gameplan at the moment based on his encyclopaedic knowledge of all the other BBs so he knows what works and doesn't work. However, what I find unforgiveable is that those of us not deluded enough to believe his crock of sh*t are being deprived of the show we should have had, instead we are lumbered with interminably boring HLs shows featuring the dreary JJ&J fauxmance, and LF which lingers on heaving duvets and the incomprehensible and tedious mumblings of these two camera *****s. Furthermore, he insults our intelligence by suggesting he is "real", "honest", and "genuine". FFS, I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.

If he wins BB11 it is a very sad note for it to go out on - the biggest travesty ever.

You can love someone and not be in love, but that doesn't mean you can't fall in love with them over a period of time.

When we date, we experience different emotions, it is possible not to see the signs when they are.

Anyway nothing wrong in having a gameplan IMO as long as it doesn't involve hurting or using other people.

I don't see it as a gameplan more protecting yourself from being manipulated this is usually seen as people having a gameplan, give most people in there a chance and they will roll all over yu so you have to keep your guard up.

That doesn't mean others won't be happy.

If John James won this series, I would be over the moon and believe that it will be the best ending for the show.

Next to it being a reality show, BB is a gameshow, so no problem with anyone having a gameplan. However, you have to be careful how you play it out. If you play the viewers for fools or play with other housemates feelings then it is out of the door as soon as we get the chance.

you may right but it's a very cynical view of it imo. I personally think that yeah he does seem to be a bit emotionally damaged, I wouldn't go so far as to say mental issues but so is Josie and I think they compliment eachother and I've said that from the start, they're both on opposite extremes to eachother and I think they could help eachother be better people if they met in the middle.

Well seeing as I have never accused him of being thick that's a silly point to make. And that gameplan isn't hard to play so it matters not whether he is actually thick or not

How is that bad? Leading Josie on is nothing to do with a gameplan. If he was going to feign a romance why wouldn't he do it with someone who will obviously sell magazines, someone like Rachael. Josie isn't quite 'Nuts' material whereas Rachael is, to be playing the game in that way you'd have a showmance with the prettiest girl!
I reckon its quite genuine and common for him to be fancied by girls, but he said himself that he 'changes his mobile a lot because girls he's met at clubs keep ringing him'. He isn't aware that he's leading these girls on, and usually runs away from one girl and goes to the next. In a house like this he can't run away. Josie is the girl that keeps 'ringing' him after a great night of cuddling and chatting. He can't 'change his mobile' in there. That's why he tried to escape yesterday.
Interestingly he said "I can't do it to her." THAT was probably the gameplan side coming out. Suddenly he seems caring and naive! "Poor John! He doesnt want to hurt her!! Aww!" is the desired effect, it's working a treat!
What he really wants to do is run.
I find that side of him a horrible trait, to lead girls on is nothing to do with a big brother gameplan - its something he's always done.
I hope he STAYS on friday just so he has to deal with himself for another week.

I agree, that there's way too much over-analysis on gameplan/fakeness etc... The reality is, if you walk into a party or live in a share house with 11 other strangers, dynamics occur whereby certain people gravitate toward others. It's VERY hard to fake 93 days, for example - pretending to like one particular person, that you actually dislike or to disguise major character traits within your own personality.

I think accusations like 'you've got a gameplan' and 'you're fake' are just reasons to dislike someone. This nation is intent on hating everyone with a flaw. It's such a shame as our flaws make us unique and something to improve on!
