Why do you think this is (what seems to be) the general attitude?

Girl shags 5 guys in a week - cheap sket. Guy shags 5 girls in a week - legend.


I think it may be because when women have sex, they allow a man to go inside of THEM. The guy is good looking enough to be able to get this kind of permission, so he's seen as like a legend.

It's so hard to explain.

It's clearly just about stereotypes and prejudice. Just like how at work, a bunch of white guys screwing around at work is just lads being lads, and making the job bearable, but if black guys do it, they're seen as lazy and not having a work ethic.

It's the result of a long-running 'dominant' patrical societal belief. Women are either saints or sluts. Men have the power. That's how it's been seen for years and in some cultures it's still the belief.

Just look at how most women are presented in the media. As far back as biblical times Eden was a stupid bitch, in ancient Greek/Egyptian myths the monsters are mostly women (gorgons, mermaids, sirens, sphinxes), in the monarchy it's believed a queen is weak so it's always about their first born sons, and in movies if the main character is a guy then his love interest will only slow the pace of the plot.

The 1990s was very pro-feminism but the 2000s dipped.

This, a few hundred years ago it was prefectly normal really for men to cheat on their wives, or at least it wouldnt have been unusual for them to do so or to visit brothels etc. whereas if a woman did the same she'd have been disgraced. I guess it follows on from there where it was more socially acceptable for men to do as they please while a woman was effectively bound to servitude
