I haven't seen the movies! I didn't know there were any...

I read the books through and though as a child, in fact I re-read them last year. It's an ambition of mine to visit Prince Edward Island.

The movies were a CBC production... and like a religious experience here in Canada....

I think it's easy for us to forget that children aren't always going to be children, and that we were children once and adults probably despised us, running around in our masses like demonic pigeons and spewing all over their favourite shirts. It's easy for us to forget that, when we're long gone, these people are what we'll be leaving behind. I personally don't see how someone can dislike a child, but it doesn't bother me either way. I imagine the only thing that can change that opinion is having a child yourself and actually watching them grow up right before your eyes.

It does annoy me when some people with children act as if you just committed the worst crime ever if you say you don't want/like kids.

Each to their own and all, nothing against people who want/have kids, but I like my freedom too much to give it up and have no time for people who make you feel bad for that.
