I think I could, it's something I've considered for a while. I usually go months without drinking anyway and then when I do it's from feeling pressured in social situations rather than actually wanting it.

I've always been teetotal, lots of people over the years have said they would love to be able to go out and have a good time without the need to drink.

Quite easily tbh. I only drink once in a while as it is, the vast majority of my meet ups with friends don't include alcohol so whenever I do drink I have a great time because it's more of an event (and the rarity of it means I'm a huge lightweight).

I'm not sure I would because as I said I enjoy it when I do but it wouldn't really make a difference to my social life if I did. |

I pretty much am, I had 3 WKD’s for my 21st last June and a mouthful of some elderflower tasting drink the other night in the last year or so.

I definitely could, I really only drink once every couple months usually. Maybe a different story like 5 years ago (or earlier) --- but still I've never been all that crazy about drinking. The only reason I wouldn't though is because then there's that one night every once in a while that I'm ready to get ****ed up.

Probably not but I don't drink that much anyway, only at parties/special occasions

I practically already am. I meet up with old friends from school every 6 months or so and we throw back a few, and I'll have a drink at events like weddings / "adults only" parties but that's it. I don't drink casually e.g. in the house (or in fact ever at all around the kids) so basically I only have any alcohol maybe 3 or 4 times a year.

I wouldn't say I judge people for enjoying alcohol or for drinking - but I do think the fact that it's socially accepted as "normal" that a huge number of people have a functional / low level alcohol dependence is pretty worrying .

Nah the pub is too big a part of my life - it's where I catch up with friends, where I go to unwind, I play darts there every Monday, we go there after every cricket match and it's just where I go if I fancy some company. I live in a small village so it is pretty much the only social outpost

Could of course go there and not drink alcohol but that would be weird |

To me its not a state that needs to be defined. You drink or you don't. There is no necessity to pigeon hole it
