I could say it's the same in sports (as a sportsman myself) because you need to be strong, tough and play it nasty sometimes but it depends on the context.

Don't agree! You can certainly be nice but savvy - and in contrast - a thick shark. It's intelligence that begets success - not playing it nasty!
