I love city life. I love the hustle and bustle, I love the night-life. I'm definitely an urban child at heart.

I don't think I could live in London though. Even that was too much for me. Sheffield is perfect. Steel city!

Really?

*Crosses out Cork on my places in Ireland to visit list*
Well I dont agreee with you that Ireland is old fashioned because from what I've seen its quite modern, but then again it probley does depend on which part.

The place is saved only by that whimsical, desperate sense of humor some people have that comes along with trying to survive in a sea of shit with your head held high.
This more or less describes the North of England. I live in an area that thinks the Sheffield and Manchester accents are "posh", which isn't good for me as I speak in RP, lol. The nearest city is Sunderland (although strictly this area is part of Durham) which is a cultural black hole. If you take a look at the classical section of CD shops, it's all Lesley Garret, Paul Potts and maybe a "Best of Mozart" album. I once made the mistake of travelling by train in the city (if you can call it that) on a bank holday... chav neanderthal central.

Moving to London might be nice, but it's probably just as bad if people like this are any indication.

Anyone with a shred of decency would have twatted him.

I've visited Manchester a few times and I wasn't keen. The place was so unfriendly, it made London look like a happy, serene community. No offence to Mancunians, I'm sure you're not all the same.

Aberdeen is my hometown, it'll always be home but it's not very exciting, I much prefer where I am now (Glasgow) - so much to see and do, I could never get bored here. I'll be spending a year abroad when I get to 3rd year of Uni, somewhere German speaking, I'd have to be in a big city. I loved Berlin when I went there, so I think that's my number one destination.. I am a city kid, I HATE being stuck in small towns and villages, it feels like torture.

You could go to Switzerland. They speak four languages there, including German, so I imagine it's a very multi-cultural country.

Definitely! The only issue with going somewhere like Switzerland, south Germany or Austria is the huge difference in dialect and use of the language; the Austrians use different words to Germans, southern Germans use a different tense for saying the same thing as northern Germans... all very confusing, but I have a bit of time before I have to seriously consider all of that! Ought to be a thrill, haha.

Why is it people want strangers to say hello to them? I don't get that,'Oh in London people don't say hello'.Yeah because they don't know you!No offence to anyone,I'm just saying. And I'm with Enid on the grass things, there's plenty of parks.

Nobody said anything about saying hello, London's the last place you'd see a stranger saying hello to another like on the street or something.
In London I've been shoved to the floor on the tube, pushed in the street several times, even got hit in the face by a briefcase on the bus without recieving a single apology, if that happened here I would have got an apology. I asked a guy the way to Hyde Park once and he replied 'buy a *****ing map' and carried on reading his paper.
People in London have no time for you whatsover, I just can't understand how people can be so rude and unfriendly.. it's worlds apart from where I live.

Meh, Cardiff is okay. Our town centre is one of the best things about it though and there's loads of nice places to go to.
