He Snapped as his own child would not stop crying.

The mother should have left the cafe with her baby
for a while.

The mother didn't sound much better though tbh. Why the hell would you bring a baby out at 10 O' Clock at night anyway, it should have been at home in bed.

No thats ok it may have been the only time she could eat out.

But a crying baby is bad news
she could have left the room
sort the baby out.

I HATE when children cry in a restaurant. Fair enough they cry, but take them outside or somewhere else whilst I'm trying to eat. I haven't come out to hear people's annoying children. I actually ask people in the place I work to step outside with their kid if it cries for too long.

she could have but instead she shook the baby and said It's a Baby. So, she obviously didn't give a crap. And it's not ok imo 10 O'Clock is too late, the baby was obviously distressed, she should have ate at home.

Can't stand when that happens - you're out trying to have a nice meal, it's bad enough you have to put up with your family acting like they like eachother, then you have some yappy little brat at the next table crying for an hour.

Drives me up the ******ing wall - that's what iPods are made for though.

Yesterday I was in McDonalds for the first time in years, I was forced to go in with everyone after school because KFC's line was to big.

So we are sitting at a table, just being cool - and there was literally about 11 Babies and Kids crying and running about like wankers.

I literally shouted 'SINCE WHEN WAS THIS A ******ING DAY CARE CENTRE!' and my mates were like ' Let's hurry up and leave.'

And then one of the girls slipped and fell and banged her head of the stair, serves her ******ing right.

I laughed and walked away x.

I use that line a lot at work. In fact I used it on Sunday when I had a table with 4 children who were running around and climbing on the other tables. I asked the mother nicely to make them sit down and she got all annoyed at me, so I got my strict side out and snapped back and told her this was a restaurant not a personal playground. She looked stunned and made her kids sit down. The rest of my tables all smiled at me and thanked me.

It comes down to parenting at the end of the day, some people just let their kids do whatever they want cos it's to much effort to keep them in line. There's absolutely no consideration for the other people in the restaurant, parents should be teaching their kids how to behave in restaurants and if they can't be bothered then they shouldn't bring them. Obviously, that doesn't apply to babies but like I said having a baby out at 10pm when it was obviously tired as it was crying for so long is selfish.

This reminds me - anyone, and mean ANYONE that brings a baby onto a plane should be fined. I went to Florida once and there was a ****ing baby crying the whole bloody way. I wanted to slap the parents for bringing it onto the plane.

Usually I love little kids but that really pissed me off to maximum.

Now that isn't very fair, there's not a whole lot a parent can do on a plane. You know yourself your ears feel funny etc and it's only a baby I have alot of sympathy for parents travelling with babies

Hmm, I don't know about the baby should be asleep at 10PM as babies have a very different sleeping pattern. But still they should have taken the baby to another part of the building and tried to stop it from crying in respect to the other diners.

Unfortunately about 40% of the British population haven't got any dining or social etiquette.

I hate when this happens, but doesn't happen that often over here.

It can ruin a nice dinner though.

Well, there's two reasons I said that, first the baby was crying so much it was obviously distressed about something, most babies only cry if they're tired, hungry or need changing. Secondly, as with pubs I think restaurants should have a cut off point in the evening for children under a certain age (for the benefit of it's other customers)

Oh yeah, I agree the baby was distressed with something. And yeah, I agree with the time restriction on children after a certain point.

I have no sympathy. They know the baby is gonna cry anyway so they bring it and ruin everyone else's journey. If it was a toddler I wouldn't mind because they're easier to deal with and you can distract them from the whole travelling experience with a film or something. But babies cry the whole way.

I accept I was exaggerating the fine thing but I just wish parents would wait until the kid's grown up a little before bringing it on a plane. (That said when I have a kid I'll probably take it on a plane when its a baby when I'm older but meh. )

even if it was an under 10 restriction I think, you'd know better than me but I'd imagine that most of the issues are with younger kids and babies?

I don't mind at all a baby crying, it is after all the only way a Baby can let you know something's wrong or the Baby needs something, maybe changing or feeding.

What does annoy me are parents that 'never' seem to check those things and let the Baby cry.
I'd rather many times be hearing a Baby cry than some daft Adults yapping, when I am anywhere.

Don't be ridiculous, you're saying people shouldn't be allowed bring babies on planes now? and alot of babies just sleep all the way through flights.

Niall im sure parents don't just bring babies on planes to annoy others, they actually have a destination they need to be. What is a parent supposed to do leave the baby home alone?

Ugh idk but it really annoys me.

Okay I've made myself look like an ass. I'll leave the thread now. I admit defeat.

I accept I was exaggerating the fine thing but I just wish parents would wait until the kid's grown up a little before bringing it on a plane. (That said when I have a kid I'll probably take it on a plane when its a baby when I'm older but meh. )
Niall what!? People do have places to go etc, sometimes to see family. Maybe planes should have a section dedicated to families though or those with small children, but you can't stop them taking children on holiday.

Okay I take back what I said. That was dumb and insensitive of me. You lot have only just made me realise how stupid the things I've posted sound.

Like I said, sometimes I say things without thinking - I think things sound better in my head than they do irl. :/
