I honestly can't grasp that viewpoint. Putting Nicola's specific situation aside, a woman continuing a sexual relationship with a guy who doesn't want children and believes she is on the pill after she's stopped is a terrible thing to do. She doesn't get extra rights to do that simply for being a woman.

Either way...it's deceitful and an innocent child is the result. They went on to have another and the children are obviously loved...but at the end of the day I wouldn't make it public knowledge and laugh about it..that child will know that it wasn't a two way decision and its in his interest that she shouldn't be bragging about it.

We don't actually know if he didn't want kids because he seems happy enough with two kids with Nicola. Since this story was about when they met. I didn't say a woman has extra rights because all genders can do what they want with their body. i don't fully agree with it but i would respect their decision. it's not moral at all and i will never do it ofc but i won't judge anyone over it. (well if they did it for benefits reasons then i will judge)

Which is why I said putting that specific example aside for the moment since my input was based on the issue in general (although if he wanted kids too then what purpose does pretending to be on the pill serve?). It's not simply a matter of a woman doing what she wants with her body, there's so much more to it than that. Doing what you want with your body and attempting to trick a man into impregnating you are two very different things. Any woman who does that absolutely deserves to be judged for it, and that's getting off lightly.

This is so wrong. I had a male friend who this happened to. They had three children, she didn't work, so the pressure was all on him to provide for the family and he just didn't see how they could afford another child. She got pregnant anyway by stopping contraception without telling him and so he went and had a vascectomy without telling her!! That fourth child, incidentally is just as much loved as the other three, but it's really about being honest with each other.
