According to an 'insider' for a tabloid. Take anything you hear with a pinch of salt as newspapers rarely face any consequences for stories like this as they never have to declare their 'sources'.

You're better off discarding anything you hear from those parasites about anything until something respectable backs it up.

Yeah, yeah I know some of this has been reported in the papers, but just by looking at her I think you can tell she's terribly fragile and I do question how she would cope if she was to end up at the bottom next week, or be sent home. A lot of it is based on my own observation and gut feeling, but I take your point lol.

I think she might just be a petite girl, Considering the heat Syco got for Susan Boyle & Shirlena they wouldn't have let her through if they didn't think she was capable.

Nah I don't think so, there's petite and then there's looking like you might snap at any moment and Cher definitely fits into the latter for me. She's so painfully pale and thin it just makes me worried for her tbh. And the SuBo argument doesn't really wash with me, I honestly believe that if it came down to a choice of someone's mental welfare and ratings, SyCo would still put the ratings first. Or maybe I'm just way too cynical lol.

I think they would of if Shirlena's problems didn't come to light but if they promised better care for the contestants and something happened to one of the youngest contestants they'd never recover from it. If she didn't pass the psych tests and stuff like that but she was still put through Syco would be given hell over it.

If there was any real danger of Cher breaking down or not being able to hack it then they wouldn't have put her through if the signs were there to begin with.

Hmmmm you obviously have more faith in them than I do then. We've seen this before, and all the contestants are meant to have psych tests etc, how did SuBo get past them? Not just on the X Factor but in BB and other reality shows as well, people always slip through the net. I'm not saying they don't care about them at all, but I do think they would take a chance and just keep a really close eye on them.

Not faith, I just know how it works. They wouldn't risk a scandal that could damage them after having their knuckles rapped earlier in the same series.

For your BB example it was only really BB7 that had that scandal, they learnt from their mistakes and they didn't dare risk it again intentionally. With so many headlines about Cher's health, they couldn't exactly feign ignorance if those stories had a grain of truth to them. they really wouldn't risk such backlash over one contestant.

Well I hope you're right is all I can say, because to me she looks like a girl dangerously on the edge. And that's not even coming from reading stuff in the papers, for me just looking at her I get the feeling she's not right.

As Dezzy has been saying, I very much doubt they would risk letting an unstable seventeen year old participate in one of, if not the biggest television show in the country. They'd receive massive backlash if it were found out she was actually mentally unfit/unstable. She's thin...but not scarily thin. I've seen worse. Yeah, just because someone's thin it doesn't make them anorexic. I know how PR and publicity works and it would be a DISASTER if Cher was as unstable as the tabloids say.

It's just the tabloids creating a narrative so they can sort out a few future articles on the matter.

Wouldn't be surprised if it were true though, and she's extremely skinny, which is bound to go against her with such a grueling and mentally exerting schedule to contend with. Nah, just from looking at her and her posture you know that all is not well there.

You can't really say either way though as we don't know her, she might just have a high metabolism. All I know is that these allegations could have a dangerous effect if they're not true, it's like saying she's fat. In the end it's going to encourage her to have a difficult relationship with food.

If she is ill then I hope she gets better but all we've had to go on is a bunch of tabloid 'insiders' and the power of suggestion that she's anorexic and unstable. It's not enough either way.
