They're not really wrong per say about the potential of the union causing problems (and increased controversy)... Isn't the royal family typically quite controlling? Though seems they've relaxed at least a little bit based on the wedding... ? I'm pleasantly surprised and I think it will send a positive message abroad and make people think a bit. I remember when they played movies about Diana and the royal family in the US, it was made a big point about how rigid they were about compliance. I have even more respect for the bride and groom now. A lesser woman would've played the role they were given and stayed inside the lines, not risking offense... sounds like she is similar to Diana. Maybe it will eventually introduce additional tension to the royal dynamic, but for now I think just enjoy the moment and let them have their day... hopefully the media will leave them alone as well. Say what we will about the state of affairs since ~2016... but we have seen a lot of shake up to the status quo. This is just yet another one of those earth quakes, but I think in the end, it will all be for the better... People are tired of the status quo and are bored with stuffy leadership that espouse the same belief and platitudes over and over again... all the while quietly standing by while the old infrastructure continues to crumble... change is meant to be.

They learned their lesson with Diana I think; they didn't love each other or even particularly like each other, and it ended up being a complete catastrophe... So the younger generation has had much more freedom in actually choosing a partner.
That said; I personally HIGHLY doubt that William would have been "allowed" to marry a Meghan Markle. Harry has always been given looser reigns and especially now that William and Kate have offspring, Harry's marriage and children doesn't really matter as much. Much like Princess Margaret I suppose. Ah isnt it all lovely, I'm actually really sorry to have missed it all having to work. They seem very happy and I think she has carried herself with a lot of dignity amongst all the family dramas and the prejudice a lot of people have carried against her

And there were people who objected to Meghan because she "looks rough"... I don't get it.
