Well the people get a card to say it was delivered to a neighbour - they need to collect it from them - so why should you have to deliver it ? My partner is a postie and there are many elderly ladies on his walk that their awful neighbours take the piss so badly that he does not keep continually bothering anymore as the lazy sods don't even come to collect off them.

Mostly I'm happy to take parcels, except for our actual next door neighbour. I'd take a parcel for them, open it, literally smother it in dog****, wrap it back up then leave it on their doorstep. I guess. But that sounds like more effort than they're worth.

This does happen. We try to return stuff too. When we ordered 4 barstools for our old dining room table... something happened with the first one, some warehouse mix-up which I can't remember how, but one of the people there goofed up the shipment.. so they sent us a new one. Well, the other one had actually been sent by mistake... we emailed and they got us a new label and so we shipped it back.

My husband works in law, so would be hypocritical... but those things do come up on lie detector tests as well... Unless you've managed to convince yourself it isn't stealing, which is possible? It just depends on how the question is framed.. if someone dropped money on the ground or that person capitalized on someone elses dumb mistake, then they may not think that of that as stealing persay, but "capitalizing"... so depending on how that is framed, it could probably be picked up... but I imagine a lot of people would fail that line of questioning... it's all in how you ask it...

Companies can actually be quite good as far as customer service goes... My grandmother fell out of contract on her electric and didn't let us know, so I went to renegotiate it yesterday (her bill was YUGE)... anyway, they saw how long she'd been out and right at the beginning of the phonecall they said they'd give her a credit.. anyway, at the end they offered a $244 "Loyalty" credit in edition to lowered fees.. I nearly choked as I couldn't believe it... and yes, she is quite happy

...yeah I do...it’s a great opportunity to chat with the neighbours and touch base and catch up when they come to collect them...or when I go collect mine from them etc...it can take an hour or so to collect a parcel and have a little chat....

Depends on your neighbours....Its something we have always done because my husband works from home. However we took a delivery of two large boxes that ended up sitting in our dining room for 2 days and in the end we had to lug the bloody things around to their house...then they moaned that there was a hole in one of the boxes and ultimately we signed for something that could have been damaged... We stopped doing it for them...they never said sorry or thank you.

It's probably just easier to have UPS/Post hold it at their facility and just pick it up that way if trust is an issue... unless it's super important, like medical/time-sensitive dealies...

Although it went through an annoying spell when the son next door discovered Amazon....parcels every day for weeks, and the whole household worked
But I always smiled sweetly when they knocked on the door for them.
We have had quite a few deliveries at the bungalow, as we haven’t moved in yet our new neighbour Keith will take charge.
Good way to break the ice, we know his life story now, as does he ours

My Nana is always home and she takes all the neighbours parcels in if delivered when they're not home. She then gets her walker out and takes it across to them if she sees them come home. She can't get about very well so that's nice for her to get about a bit without over doing it.

That is quite nice. We got to know the neighbor behind us really really well just after moving in (we were still setting up) after he had come over because power was out at his property behind us... the junction box was in our yard and they needed permission to do quite a bit of digging to fix, so of course we said yes and get electric back... anyway, both he and the husband work (or in case of neighbor, worked) the same field and so they compared notes... but yeah, he came over and helped us take apart a massive shed that had had a big tree fall over on it... and he was happy to remove because it gave him a better view from his yard of the sky ... which I get, it was quite large and in that condition when we bought, so it was a bit of an eyesore... it must've been a really big tree...

I think if I had to leave a parcel, I would tell them to leave with him. Just because we got on so well... he is not really adjacent to us in terms of seeing them when they come in and out as it's on a different street that loops away from ours, so there is no other reason we would've met, so that was nice...

i always refuse to accept parcels for neighbours. The delivery company get paid enough, they just want to avoid coming back. There are drop off points locally too, so if someone isn't going to be in to receive a delivery, they should send it to the drop off point.

I said yes because its usually on the same street, so there's no issue with it as the neighbour is either next door or just across . It's the polite thing to do and the favour is returned aswell .

Unless you're on bad terms with your neighbours or you get burdened alot with their parcels, then there shouldn't be a problem .

I don't take them anymore, as my neighbours refuse to do it for me and one of them actually had a go at me for not bringing her parcel round the second she got in from work, while I was dealing with a ill child (who actually ended up in hospital that night), so basically, **** them.

I don't deliver them as well. If they want them they can come and get them. I'm not Amazon. Your neighbour sounds like a cow. I hope your child is ok.
