The N word is a word used to degrade black people and reduce them to meer objects. I do believe that context and intent matters but the way that Rodrigo used it served that exact purpose. Even if he had just said "I like little black boys" in the condescending way that he did I would've raised an eyebrow just because that tone suggested to me that he doesn't see black men as his equals but rather as objects to fulfil his sexual desire, but to also throw in the N word to me that just confirms my theory. You can be sexually attracted to black people while also being racist just like how some straight men are incredibly misogynistic. If twitter(and this forum to a small extent) is anything to go by this whole Rodrigo situation has been met by a majority of black people being genuinely offended and hurt by his comments and a white majority disregarding their feelings and telling them to get over it.
