The guy literally has no likeable qualities as a president and I think a lot of people know what he’s like and he’s not that well liked tbh

You won’t be saying I’m jumping on the bandwagon if were in support of him now would you? I never liked him and never will

Taking money from the military, Disaster relief fund and other important parts of government to fund an ego boost is a disgusting abuse of power.

The facts do not lie, there is no crisis at the border and no real reason to build the wall, it would be better and more cost effective to maintain the gates since security and immigration experts both agree that a wall won't do much to prevent anything since most drugs and illegal substances come through the gates and checkpoints via smuggling. People can climb over a wall and they can burrow underneath it. A wall does nothing but fuel Trump's ego and he wants to waste precious funds for actual crisis situations for his imaginary one.

I don't care which side of the argument you fall on, if you don't see this as a gross abuse of power then you are choosing to ignore the facts. Even republicans are speaking out against this.

What an idiot. You would think he would quietly drop this ridiculous wall idea, rather than still shouting on about it.

Also, using relief money is asking for disaster. Nothing can go wrong there, no way

Another thing he's doing that's unconstitutional and will be struck down in court. Congress appropriates funds. The President is not a king. He can't spend people's money at whim. The House controls the purse.

Who did the USA elect as leader in 2016?

TRUMP

He is who the people chose

What did he promise?

A Wall

The US electorate voted for Trump

Anyone blocking Trump from fulfilling his electoral promise to the people of the US does not believe in Democracy

The Democratic Party (Or as they should now be called the UnDemocratic Party) are blocking a Democratically elected head of state from fulfilling his electoral promises

When we had the shut down all I could see from the Undemocrats was their crocodile tears and hand wringing over the "poor federal workers", as these undemocrats jet setted all over the place, while Trump stayed at his post, ready to talk.

Just like the UK Labour Party, more interested in far left wing ideology than actual people, the Undemocrats, do not care about people they pretend to represent, only their ideology and looking good on TV while wringing their hands shedding Crocodile tears, over the"poor federal workers".

We have also seen how the UnDemocrats are tolerating Anti-Semitism in their own party.

This post just shows the ignorance that you have over the responsibilities of the various branches of government in the USA. Congress is a body elected by the people of America and it is them that decide what gets funding.

I'm pretty sure that the government shutdown put paid to any support for the wall beyond his hardcore base who thinks the sun shines out of his arse.

A majority of people blamed Trump for the government shutdown and now there's a lot of opposition to the wall, especially if Trump is plundering disaster relief funds for a wall that most experts (bipartisan ones at that) believe is unneeded. Trump is fabricating a crisis to get his way and most reasonable people can see through it, hell, he'll have a fight to garner support from republicans, never mind the people after the stunt he's pulled.

I have heard testimony from my "Friends" on Facebook who live near the border, and they have told me how vital it is for security.

Only if you live on the border can you pronounce whether it is needed or not. My contacts do and have.

Coalition of 16 states sues Trump administration over emergency declaration

'President Trump treats the rule of law with utter contempt,' says California A-G

At least 16 states — led by California — have joined to sue the Trump administration over the U.S. president's declaration of a national emergency to fund a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.

The lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California Monday, after Trump invoked emergency powers on Friday.

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra released a statement Monday saying the suit alleges the Trump administration's action violates the Constitution.

"President Trump treats the rule of law with utter contempt," Becerra said. "He knows there is no border crisis, he knows his emergency declaration is unwarranted, and he admits that he will likely lose this case in court."

Joining California in filing the lawsuit are the attorneys general of Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, and Virginia. All the states involved in the lawsuit have Democratic attorneys general.

Trump Border Security
A coalition of 16 states launched a lawsuit against the Trump administration over Trump's declaration of a national emergency as rallies organized by Move On were held in various cities. (Margo Reed/The Philadelphia Inquirer/Associated Press)
Trump's declaration will shift billions of dollars from military construction to the border. He made the move after Congress approved far less border security funding than Trump wanted for the wall, which the Republican considers a national security necessity.

His emergency proclamation calls the border "a major entry point for criminals, gang members, and illicit narcotics."

Illegal border crossings have declined from a high of 1.6 million in 2000. But 50,000 families are now entering illegally each month, straining the U.S. asylum system and border facilities.

Trump's critics have argued he undercut his own rationale for the emergency declaration by saying he "didn't need to do this" but wanted to get the wall built faster than he otherwise could. In announcing the move, he said he anticipated the legal challenges.

Affected by borders and climate change, California is at the centre of a Trump resistance
Protesters also turned out Monday to voice their anger at the declaration.

"Trump is the national emergency!" chanted a group of hundreds lined up Monday at the White House fence while Trump was in Florida. Some held up large letters spelling, "Stop power grab." In downtown Fort Worth, Texas, a small group carried signs with messages including "No wall! #FakeTrumpEmergency."

Organized by the liberal group MoveOn and others, Monday's demonstrations took the occasion of the Presidents Day holiday in the U.S. to assail Trump's proclamation as undemocratic and anti-immigrant.

Kelly Quirk, of the progressive group Soma Action, told a gathering of dozens in Newark, N.J., that "democracy demands" saying "no more" to Trump.

"There are plenty of real emergencies to invest our tax dollars in," said Quirk.

Trump would veto any vote against national emergency, says White House adviser
In New York City, hundreds of people at a Manhattan park chanted "No hate, no fear, immigrants are welcome here" as several of them held up letters spelling, "IMPEACH."

There were some counter-protesters, including in Washington, where there was a brief scuffle in the crowd.

"President Trump declared a national emergency in order to spend billions of taxpayer dollars on his border wall obsession," Manar Waheed of the American Civil Liberties Union told protesters rallying in a Washington park before heading to the nearby White House fence. The ACLU has announced its intention to sue Trump over the issue.

Ana Maria Archila, co-executive director of the left-leaning Center for Popular Democracy, said the president had undertaken to "steal money that we desperately need to build a country of our dreams so that he can build a monument to racism along the border."

At one point during the rally, a counter-protester walked through the crowd toting a sign saying, "Finish the wall" on one side and "Protect the poor" on the other. Another man snatched his sign from him, sparking a short scuffle.
Can't wait for his emergency to be held up in court for a year or two
