I legitimately don't dislike anyone on this season. Some I did kind of dislike have grown on me (Reem after re-watch from missing parts of the premiere, Wardog after a few episodes). On the other hand, there's not too many I feel strongly good about either so far. I mostly just care about the two returnees in Kelley & David... and then I'm kinda rooting for the returnees on the other tribe as well.

I didn't realize I liked Chris more than that many people on the cast until I thought about it for this ranking and that's what made me realize I think this cast is lacking good, big characters out of the newbies. He's easily top 1-3 from the newbies and even though I did like him there's no way I rank him a top 3 castaway on almost any other Survivor casts.

Almost impossibly close/tough to rank between #4-6, #7-10, & #14-16. Also I still wish I liked more people on this cast (like I could stan majorly; more Kelley's and David's)... Victoria made a HUGE jump, and she's pretty easily my #3 fave right now, just from amusing me in her villainous role for 2 episodes tonight

Reem, Ron, Wardog & Wendy could all easily be ranked in my orange tier if I was feeling more strict but tonight's episodes were really entertaining so I'm in a positive ranking mood

Aurora (completely invisible for the entire pre-merge only to emerge as an odd little weirdo who doesn't fit in and has trouble connecting with her tribemates, is slightly abrasive bordering on actually abrasive because She Wants To Win No Matter What, but also mentions once that she grew up in foster care so a bunch of casuals end up rooting for her despite having a UTRM edit? I ****ing stan )
2. Reem (if we owe thanks to the Edge of Extinction twist for anything, it's for giving us an entire season full of first boot Reem her OTTM5 premiere episode was amazing enough as it was, but then we got a season's worth of amazing soundbites as she greeted every eliminated player to the Edge with cries of DUDE and YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME and COME ON, MAN <3 not to mention like... her yelling at Chris for no reason, her one-sided feud with Kelley just because, the weird vortex of Reem-Wendy-Keith... it all just worked for me)
3. Wendy (quirky abrasive OTTM pariah whose edit is forced to be edited positively because she's an outcast who has Tourette's and values the lives of chickens over the hunger of her tribemates <33333 The Wendy experience was great because she was obviously playing up to the cameras when she would do **** like free the chickens and strike an anime pose by holding up a peace sign to the cameras... but she was authentically pandering to the cameras that it wrapped back around to being real? I'm sure Wendy's still playing up to the cameras as we speak even though she isn't being filmed right now. She's feisty, scrappy, and ultimately knows how to make Good TV while staying true to who she is. Sad we didn't get to see her remain on the Edge of Extinction for the rest of the season but Wendy *was* the pre-merge of EoE)
4. Lauren (I was pretty sure from the premiere that I was going to Dislike Lauren for being a basic Kelley sidekick, but I ended up liking her... for pretty much the same reasons? She was loyal to Kelley as a friend and as an ally, but she was enough of her own person and A Strong Woman that it wasn't bothersome at all. She was also just fun and funny in her confessionals and in the actual game. "Lauren, you just fainted" "Damnit :\" )
5. Ron (I was Not Sure how much I would like Ron since I'm very conflicted on The Ron Clark Academy and his fame as a top educator since a lot of the challengers of being a teacher are negated when your school is selective through an admissions process, but Ron Clark is just so extra and it worked as a Survivor character. It never really clicked with me until the merge, but I dug Evil CPN Ron who was the dictator of the Kama tribe and used the family visit as emotional blackmail and leverage to hold everyone together. Then he got blindsided and I found out that I loved a CPN desperate and out-of-power Ron even more?!?! Rick accidentally getting credit for "booting" Ron was gross but Ron's arc was a great one that really suffered from an inconsistent edit)
6. Chris (as a person, I don't know where to rank Chris because just look at his damn edgic strip. We don't really know him as a character at all, other than that he wanted to play a perfect game but didn't. That being said, I absolutely ****ing stan Chris as the end-game angel that came down from heaven to save us all from a Rick Devens win <3 It's hilarious that he won a whole season of Survivor while spending about 70% of his time out of the game, but it's easy to stan when you don't take him seriously as a deserving winner)
7. Victoria (I don't really like Her that much, but she's totally fine and I think I would've liked her more if she received a stronger edit. She played the **** out of Aubry and it was hilarious, but that was kind of her peak? I think I definitely could have liked her a lot more if we got to see more clearly as to why she was a Jury threat and the type of game she played, but she's definitely a strong player who deserves a second chance and I wouldn't be mad at all to see her again. I don't dislike her, but I just didn't feel like the show gave me enough reasons to REALLY like her)
8. Wardog (I am SHOCKED, but Wardog was kind of good on the show? He's a slightly obnoxious derivative of Tony, but I loved how BAD he was at every single Challenge but how he would also actively plot to not do anything around camp so he could save his energy for the next Challenge We love people who genuinely think laziness is a strategy! I also looooooved when Gavin got all smug after the Kelley boot and Wardog read him for filth, even though he got voted out that same episode. That being said, the Kelley boot inadvertently turned the endgame into a nauseating Rick Devens lovefest, and he's kind of a huuuge asshole on Twitter)
9. Eric (I *really* wanted to love Eric because yes daddy, but he was sadly a nobody! The plate-licking gif is maybe the best non-Reem/Aurora/Wendy thing to come out of this season though?)
10. Julie (wow, another middle aged woman finalist who the Jury treats as a joke. Novel concept! Julie had a great premiere and she seemed like she would be a hilarious "messy hag" or whatever you want to call her, and she wasn't not that, but her edit was just very inconsistent and it made her character suffer. Largely irrelevant throughout the premerge, a random CPP5 heroine in the merge episode who fought for what was humane by not wanting to immediately send Rick out the revolving door... and then she JUMPED SHIP at Tribal Council and even though her meltdown was hilarious, it was kind of awful and smug of her to meltdown over being left out of the Eric vote when she left people out of the Joe vote literally one round earlier. There's a lot to like about Julie, and she would probably be green with a stronger edit which is a reoccurring theme for this season, but some of the stuff she said and did was Not A Good Look)
11. Keith (COME ON GOD... COME ON GOD... COME ON GOD... I'm pretty neutral on Keith even though it was quite a journey. CPP hero segment in the premiere episode only for him to immediately betray Reem in order to survive, but then he got bitter when others betrayed him the following episode? His bitterness wasn't cute, but I can't hate him because he was hilariously out of his depth in terms of survival and strategy and not being able to swim (WHY is this still a thing for black people to almost drown on Survivor in 2019) and honestly I looooooved how Keith was so shameless while on the Edge of Extinction when trying to find advantages immediately after everyone agreed to not be sneaky about them. Him running away to find the advantage while having everyone chase after him cursing about how much of a jackass he is was a top tier Edge of Extinction moment)
12. Aubry (poor girl just wanted to have AN OPEN DIALOGUE with every single member of Kama but then got completely railroaded by Victoria in humiliating fashion I was totally fine with Aubry's actual time in the game, but then I kind of grew tired of her while she was on EoE! Her jury reaction shots were SO ****ing contrived and her metaphors were sooooooo absurd that it was hilariously frustrating to hear her talk about waiting in the Survivor waiting room and how it's Halloween night and she's trying to find her black cat and how she got treated like a piece of taxidermy and ugh I'm rolling my eyes so hard just writing all of this. I still like Aubry as a person, but I think we've just seen WAY too much of her lately, considering that her first season aired in 2016 and she's already threepeated)
13. Gavin (I was actually Not A Fan of his for most of the season, and I still am not but I'm pretty whatever about him? He's just sooooo untelegenic that I have no clue how he was cast, and even though he was ostensibly A Good Player in the fact that he received no votes cast against him, he was annoying with how he turned on Eric bc Ron was leveraging the family visit against them... only to feel indebted to Ron when he took him on the family visit Reward? It was also Not A Good Look when he was bitter about being left out of the Kelley vote because "he would've gone along with it if he had known there was a majority" bc that's just some weak sauce right there. I'm glad he didn't win, but I DID appreciate how his entire FTC performance was just him bitching about how it's absurd that he's going to lose to Chris, someone voted out of the game on Day 8 bc girl same )
14. Joe (it doesn't even feel like Joe was on this season, which is GREAT, but I still don't care for him. He's totally harmless and benign as a person, but I just cannot deal with the show continually shoving him down our throats because he is NOT good television or good at Survivor. He's really in red because his existence as a threepeater is so ****ing STUPID and based off of America's delusions that you're a good player if you can win Challenges and fish and have long hair. Season after season, he has used the same LOSING strategy but the show not only congratulates him for it, but acts like he wasn't given a fair shot at Survivor?! Girl please)
15. Kelley (I don't even know what to say about Kelley because she's just a completely lame Survivor character who I still can't believe was a threepeater. Like... she was strategic? And she Played The Game? I'm surprised she's not in my bottom 3, but truth be told she's just a really boring person who gets way more airtime than she's actually worth. I might edit this later when I remember more Kelley Things but then again, are there even Kelley Things? I don't think so)
16. Julia (this one is sad because I feel like I tricked myself into liking Julia for a while? She was hilariously UTR and Reddit ****ing HATED her bc she dared to tweet about how she's disappointed that she's underedited because she wanted to be a positive role model to black women, and of course Reddit found her UNGRATEFUL and RACIST which is so ****ing Reddit of them, so I started ironically stanning Julia out of protest. Then I actually stanned her momentarily when she had her TC meltdown where she called Rick a passenger and told Wardog to shut up and got her entire tribe to turn on her unfortunately, Julia the Juror was sooooo bad and cringeworthy because she was clearly SO DESPERATE for airtime and would've done anything for just one more soundbite or one more second of screentime. Her jury reactions were dreadful and her literally twerking from the jury bench is so iconicly dreadful that I can't help but laugh and feel embarrassed for her. She's just the type of player who would blindside her best friend for no reason other than to make A BIG MOVE and we don't have time for that in 2019)
17. David (ughhhhhhhhh if Kelley felt like a waste of screentime, what about ****ing David?! He was CP3+ toneless for 7/10 of his in-game episodes and it was just the same content OVER AND OVER AGAIN about how he wanted Kelley out and wanted to work with Rick, even though he would never actually do anything to get Kelley out. The difference between Kelley and David for me is that even though they were both wastes of time, I at least found Kelley to be authentic enough of a person and I kinda feel like I know her. With David, everything just feels smarmy and calculated and obnoxiously filtered. It's all so hollow. "I am friendly. I am polite. I am nice. I am strategic. Don't you see that?" maybe I would if you actually showed me, rather than told me! Even when his mask starts to slip, like when everyone yelled at him at TC for saying loyalty is his brand, he still finds a way to bring it back into his contrived persona and just be like "oops" and have a fake smile. We don't actually know who David is, and we are never going to)
18. Rick (lmao ugh do I actually want to write about Rick? He's not that bad of a person, but he's not that good of one either? However, his edit is ABYSMAL. The entire endgame was this awful blend of CPM/OTTM with vis ****ing 7, because he would continue to get more airtime and confessionals than everyone else put together! And his content was just like "I am PLAYING HARD! Everyone is SLEEPING but I am WORKING! YOU SNOOZE YOU LOSE!" because he would just go on scavenger hunts to find the rehidden Idols that he just played the night before. What moves did Rick actually accomplish? Even when he used his Idols he could never get out his intended target because everyone else would split their votes knowing that an Idol would get played. It really wouldn't matter too much but oh my god, I swear I lost so many brain cells reading the Facebook comments about how Rick was the best player EVER because he was the only one HAVING FUN and WINNING CHALLENGES and PLAYING IDOLS!!! Literally, he was called the best player EVER by soooooo many people. And those who didn't call him the best player ever said he was SECOND only to BOSTON ROB I'm not going to write anymore because if you watched episode 13 of Survivor: Edge of Extinction and suffered through the scenes of Rick running around the jungle and hiding behind trees and trying to pass that off as Good Gameplay and you still don't understand why he's the bottom ranked contestant of this season, then you never will truly get it)
