Try coming up with a less **** hypothetical then.

But I'll bite, Japan has two sides to it's society, one that enjoys the growth and sharing of culture and an older side to it that's often racist and dismissive of other cultures. If I went to Tokyo and saw more a diverse and accepting culture taking root then that's only a sign that the old ways are dying out and that's a good thing. It's not like the temples and history will be torn down and ripped aside, it's not like the national identity is disappearing, it would simply be growing.

It's typically only racists that take issue with diversity.

It's got nothing to do with race, English people come in all races. How many Londoners describe themselves as English is the point I think Cleese is trying to make.
