Eh. He shouldn't be struck out of the profession for a silly thing like that. That kind of behavior on front of pupils does compromise one's standing as an authority figure, so I wouldn't have blamed the school for asking him to move on if he wasn't already, but it's not the kind of thing which means he should never teach again.
