People have always made up slang terms, look how many phrases Shakespeare added to the language. I live in a very rural area and my local town is almost completely white. If you stand outside the high school when the kids chuck out, you can hear them, speaking like black kids when they probably haven't ever met a black kid. And I'm told that's youth culture or something... when in reality it's as silly and affected as adopting any other kind of fake accent.
