yes, and apart from anything else it was a nice community thing to do, have waved to neighbours I have never seen before in the last week

if you didn't want to go out and clap, no bother, but maybe just **** for a change, sick of the one up manship all the time

tired of this "where in this together" stuff when the majority of people ignored warnings for days/weeks anyway

As I said in that update thread before getting spanked by Cherie;

Every NHS worker I've seen comment on this (and my wife knows a LOT of nurses):

"We don't want you to clap out of your door, we want better pay and working conditions when this is all over.

I didn't but I was asleep. My mum and Nan did.

I understand why people didn't and why they would, but I can guarantee loads of the people who did it and claim to appreciate the NHS will be in asda tomorrow buying non essentials.

While the sentiment is nice, it just feels a bit hollow to me, it won’t be long before they’re being blamed for a load of the deaths imo and a lot of the people doing it for Instagram will probably be cussing them out again because of long waiting times by October, it shouldn’t take a crisis for people to appreciate the people saving lives on a daily basis, the show is a little bit too late, personally

There was a nurse on LBC early hours of this morning she said she would rather people appreciate them by leaving food on the shelves for them and people staying in whenever possible not clapping on their doorstep, plus while on the subject why cant we have a fundraiser like say Comic Relief, but all those affected by this and the NHS ?we raise millions when these things take place,so wouldn't that be another thing to do ?

not all care workers are perfect
Family groups Nicky or people living in the same house stood together, no one was hugging their neighbour

ok a more lovelier gesture than this comes from my province anyway, Guus Meeuwis song Brabant is our sort of ''province anthem'' and on our local radio they play that song every saturday afternoon and they want everyone in the province to sing along, to show we are one in this crisis

another gesture from the football world, in Germany

Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Red Bull Leipzig all have put more than 20 million in a emergency fund to help out the minor smaller football teams who might be financially affected after this coronacrisis also a lovely selfless gesture i guess

Again, I'll be happy when the NHS is thanked with better funding and higher wages for its staff who we all "love so much" Parmy.

Not when people clap out their window to make themselves feel better.

Isn't that what the NHS is all about?..."making people feel better"

So if clapping makes us feel better then surely clappers saving the NHS money. ..misery guts costing money in the future.

You should be aware of the mental strain we are all feeling, last night's clapping was a great release for many thousand,(at minimum) of people.
