I’ve finished Survivor South Pacific! I really liked this season, the cast, and Sophie winning topped it off

1. Sophie - I liked how blunt and honest she was and got called out for being a brat in the finale yet she still won
2. Stacey - Almost every sentence that came out of her mouth was hilarious ADULTS CALL HIM BENJAMIN
3. Edna - I liked her throughout the whole season but especially in her boot episode, she was great “Brandon, you came out here to cleanse your family name. You’re not doing a very good job. Sorry”
4. Christine - These are TEMPORARY players
5. Coach - I still liked him this season even though he wasn’t as good as usual
6. Semhar - She was a really fun first boot
7. Albert - He thought he was this great gameplayer despite everybody hating him
8. Dawn - I liked how fake-nice she was to people but I do think she’s a nice person too? Atm she’s probably my favourite returnee going into Caramoan
9. Mark - I liked him in his few episodes! And during the finale when he was jumping around on stage lol
10. Rick - He was kind of funny whenever he was shown
11. Elyse - She seemed fun but she was barely shown
12. Ozzy - I didn’t mind him as much as his other seasons tbh? Even liked him sometimes but he was offputting at times too
13. Mikayla - I only remember her for Brandon hating her randomly (and for dating Russell post show but that’s a different story)
14. Keith - I don’t have any thoughts on him at all
15. Cochran - I don’t like the way he was treated and I do think he’s a good person but I agree with Sophie that he was kind of annoying too and not in a good way?
16. Whitney - The only thing I remember about her is being nasty to Cochran after the Keith boot
17. Brandon - I feel bad for him but then again he’s awful to watch so. I get liking him, but he’s not for me
18. Jim - Soooo ****ing smug and awful. “Coward. Coward.” might be even worse than “Don’t get too confident”

So the last two episodes were kinda fascinating but in a bull**** garbage kind of way. I just can't with Bonnie and Hykie, and somehow they're even worse and insufferable now that Letshego has joined them for no reason? Like, Sean won the family reward and brought Alison and MXO with him, so then when Letshego was left back at camp with Bonnie and Hykie she took it as a sign from her mother and a sign from God that she should realign with Raituhn after voting against them last round? And she was randomly gifted an Idol in the most bull**** way so she felt vindicated by God being her side?! Like, she literally just got an Idol for not going on Reward, there were three sandwich bags back at camp and she just chose the right one. Suuuuuch bull****, and even more so when you factor in the White Cowrie just lamely getting passed back and forth between Bonnie and Hykie as they jerk each other off to Jesus being on their side.

The whole showing during the Sean boot got even worse because somehow Letshego tried to pin the blame on Alison and Sean for not talking to her, when they only started not talking to her when they realized that it was a lost cause because she had already flipped. Thankfully Alison, MXO, and Sean read everyone to ****ing filth at Tribal, with Alison basically telling Bonnie to go home if she doesn't care about winning and MXO providing the read of the century by calling Hykie and Bonnie the preacher and the preacher's wife

I also have decided that I ****ing haaaaate Bonnie. Even's not even how smug and holier than thou she is (which don't get me wrong, she absolutely is), but she's also just so gormless and pathetic. She openly said she's not concerned about losing the money. She gave possibly the worst Idol play speech ever, saying she'd rather lose everything for the truth than for the million. But what really tipped the scales against her was how after MXO dubbed her the preacher's wife, she spent the next day crying to Hykie and had multiple confessionals about how Alison and MXO are so malicious and what they said was uncalled for, even though Bonnie's probably the nastiest person of the entire merge and the only person who rivals her is Hykie.

SPEAKING OF, holy **** Bonnie's codependency on Hykie legitimately creeps me out. Like, the two of them and Letshego are all crazy religious zealots and it's definitely affected the season in a negative way, but Bonnie spends every waking minute sitting on that ****ing log talking to Hykie about how her heart always leads her in the right direction, she just can't explain it and then when they get separated after a Reward Challenge she just spends the day sulking around camp desperately awaiting for Hykie's return. It's even creepier when you factor in the fact that she's a married woman

This is long enough already so I'll wrap this up with some closing thoughts: Alison's pretty awesome and I'd love to see her return even though her final words make it seem like she'd hesitate to ever come back. She impressed me a lot in the first two episodes as someone who strategically was head and shoulders above the rest of her peers, and even though she was a bit low-key in the midgame (the only thing preventing her from reaching a CPP overall, really), her endgame was a strong character performance where she effectively ran out of moves but she had everyone pegged and didn't hold back in her confessionals or even in person. She didn't go down without a fight and definitely would've been a huge threat to win if she didn't get screwed by a quit and a medevac and a double TC.

And finally, I just realized that MXO is basically a much more benign Josh Martinez and I kind of love him for it. Another one whose edit has been on and off but when he's on, oh it's on

Finished and I feel pretty okay about this season! Definitely the worst of the SA seasons I've seen (4-7) and definitely my least favorite winner, but it was never a chore to watch. That being said, there were a lot of flaws with the God Squad running the endgame thanks to the most inconvenient Challenge wins and flawed twists like the White Cowrie and gifted Idols.

The penultimate episode was a personal nightmare for me, with Bonnie talking about how she asked God for just one Challenge win, her somehow actually winning despite being laughably unathletic, Letshego and Hykie obnoxiously cheering as soon as it became clear she was going to beat MXO, and just the general smug celebration of the God Squad making the final three.

I find Letshego pathetic in a lot of ways and Hykie is suuuuuch a hypocrite who is completely indignant to the fact that he was playing the game despite slipping and half-admitting that he was playing the game and making calculated moves multiple times. I don't know, part of me went into the finale like Hykie less because Bonnie and Letshego were just so pathetic in following his every word, but then when Hykie won I was mad to the point where I think I might've liked Letshego more as a winner? Who knows, they both suck and the highlight of the reunion was Alison pulling out a makeshift Oscar award to give to Hykie for being Best Actor in a Leading Role the shade of it all.

1. Vanessa (she wasn't my #1 for most of the season but just watch her get murdered in a challenge and show up for TC in a neck brace and wheelchair. Just watch that streamble of her "comforting" Alison. Also I think she had a lot of potential as a player? The Philicity vote was stupid and she had to be saved with an Idol to even make it to her medevac *BUT* she had strategic chops and was doing all the right things by trying to make inroads with Simon and MXO. But at the same time Alison did not like her and Sindi haaaaaaated her so maybe she wasn't that good of a player? But A+ viewing)
2. Roxy (she was actually my #1 for most of the season but she never had quite the highs that Vanessa did. For a celeb, she was actually pretty game savvy and had a lot of good instincts but she isolated herself so much with Vanessa that the rest of the tribe rallied against her. She had some spunk and got completely ****ed by a medevac and double TC in the same episode, but she was a lot more into playing the game than I expected a celebrity to be so I wish we could see more from her one day)
3. Alison (robbed. Reminds me a lot of T-Bird in the sense that she's a tough 53 year old woman who had wayyyyyy too much game sense for this dumb as hell cast. Her hustle was fun but her over-it-ness in her boot episode was even more fun? Would love for her to return)
4. MXO (Josh Martinez from BBUS19 without a victim complex OR a wannabe bully complex? Was really ****ing loud and infuriated people around him but he was FUN and FUNNY. His patented Goma chant, his Michael Jackson comment re: Jacques and his vitiligo, his read of the century by calling Hykie and Bonnie the preacher and the preacher's wife... so much fun )
5. Simon (was the Goma alpha male and tribe provider but he was kind of a fun presence? Didn't really have any moments but I think he could've shined if he stuck around long enough and really got to see Bonnie and Hykie's bull****, especially if his vote for Letshego to win is any indication)
6. Sean (was kinda UTRfun as a physical threat and obstacle towards the God Squad and I loved how he came for Hykie in his jury question but he A) voted for him to win and B) sided with Hykie and voted out Tejan at F7, and in particular that F7 vote was the final nail in the coffin for any sort of good outcome)
7. Jacques (I think he could've been fun as a loyal Roxnessa cub but his quit over vitiligo completely ruined the chances of anyone from Goma winning so yellow it is)
8. Lukhanyo (I think he could've been an interesting CPN villain and at first I was entertained at an alpha male being the first boot but now I'm wishing for an alternate timeline where he maybe leads a charge against Hykie's God Squad in the merge)
9. Malusi (randomly maligned by Bonnie so of course I moderately like him? He was apparently lazy around camp but we never really saw it. Was just kinda there and given N SPV for things we never saw *BUT* he read Hykie for filth in his jury question and voted against him so he gets points in my book)
10. Tejan (a little too boringly CPN for my liking and was just not really that good of a Survivor player but he was ultimately harmless and I would give anything for him to survive the F7 vote over Hykie)
11. Harry (his edit would've been soooo overbearing in US Survivor but he was fine here. A little whiny and it was annoying how he voted for Hykie after claiming that Hykie bullied him on Raituhn, but he was still ultimately harmless and kinda funny like 25% of the time)
12. Tshepo (I thought he was going to be a BIG CHARACTER and could've been fun but he peaked when he caught rats and made the celebs eat them. Even his OTTN boot episode was kinda lackluster, oh well)
13. Philicity (probably a CTS favorite if people watched this season bc black girl named Philicity BUT she was kinda sour and looked down her nose towards MXO so I wasn't really a big fan whoops)
14. Sindi (this season's vapid favorite wasn't even that good!! Not even UTRfun, hardly ever on the show, and was never on the side I was rooting for. Her blood feud with Vanessa came out of nowhere but obviously I'm #TeamVanessa so goodbye)
15. Letshego (Was in yellow and actually borderline green until the F6 when she deduced that THE ALMIGHTY kept her out of the family visit Reward because she was destined to be gifted an Idol back at camp She was also infuriatingly smug whenever anyone tried to tell her that she was playing for third place behind Bonnie/Hykie and she would just be like "and what of it? " god she was pathetic)
16. Hykie (I think he made some moments happen and I would've had him in yellow until about the F7 but oh my goddddd he's so smug and in denial about the fact that he was playing a game. God does *NOT* care about your success and your success alone in Survivor South Africa, and whenever he was confronted about playing the game he would just put his fingers in his ears ago "I do not know what you are talking about, how does one even play Survivor" as he continued to pander to the Jury and to the audience each ****ing episode)
17. Carmel (apparently she's randomly seen as a ROBBED PREJURY GODDESS but she was just kinda stank and got really mad that Harry found an Idol and didn't tell the entire tribe. I think she was starting to get a little bit of hustle and game sense so maybe she could've done something in the merge but oh well, missed opportunity I'll never care about!)
18. Tasleem (just really really pathetic who practically quit in the most lame way. Complete waste of a casting choice. Lmfao @ I think Hykie calling her KIM KARDASHIAN during the Rites of Passage like no)
19. Bonnie (I've gone on and on about her but just so smug, condescending, useless, gormless, and infuriating with absolutely NO desire to play the game. Her codependency on Hykie just creeped me out and made me feel uncomfortable, and she was NASTY about anyone who opposed her in the tamest of ways. A complete hypocrite)

So yeah, an overall mixed bag of a season that definitely had potential but often times had the worst case scenario happening over and over again. Onto Santa Carolina!

Finished Survivor One World, and imo it wasn’t very good. Nothing that interesting really happened and it was quite dry. I don’t think anybody would make my top 100, and that’s saying something because all other seasons I have watched have people in there, even RI Maybe Chelsea would make it at a push (she was hilarious at times with how much she hated everyone ) but that’s about it

I don’t want to be completely negative, so I will say that I thought the F3 was good and that Kim was a good winner, and is actually funny despite her reputation as being boring, which is true, but she is ironically funny because of it? I also liked that they brought back some of my favourite tasks/challenges that had been left out in previous seasons, such as the Survivor Auction and Q&A.

3. Monica - Idk she just seemed nice and I was sad when she went early? I also laughed at her during Kim’s win announcement when she tried getting Chelsea’s attention on stage (I would gif but I can’t atm for some reason. Skip to Jeff’s introducing the reunion show to see it)
4. Sabrina - Her sarcasm towards Troyzan’s obnoxiousness propels her to #4 in a series like One World
5. Bill - He seemed like a fun guy and it’s a shame that a) he went early, and b) his Survivor journey was ruined by Colton
6. Kat - She was annoying at times but I did find her reaction to not getting chosen to go on the reward funny lol
7. Christina - A fun UTRN presence at times but not that great
8. Tarzan - Had potential to be funny with moments like “Leif is EGREGIOUS” but at other times he was annoying and gross and kind of spiteful at times too. I also felt he was a bit Phillip Sheppardish for my liking at times
9. Nina - Could have been fun if she stayed but she didn’t leave that much of an impression on me in her 2 episodes
10. Leif - I found it kind of funny when he would sleep in a box I guess.
