I am loving this... finally people are waking up and really questioning why we celebrate such people in this way...why we literally have to look up to such persons who succeeded due to the subjugation of others.

It was the norm then, perhaps it was, that's the best argument I've heard for them remaining and frankly it's not good enough.

The real reason they take pride of place in our towns and cities is to remind us who has the money and the power, historically they had and they still do.
