Quand il pleut, il pleut
|
Quote:
"Harry's girl is (almost) straight outta Compton: Gang scarred home of her mother revealed — so will he be dropping by for tea?" "Now that's upwardly mobile! How in 150 years, Meghan Markle's family went from cotton slaves to royalty via freedom in the U.S. Civil War ... while her dad's ancestors included a maid at Windsor Castle" “Yes, they’re joyfully in love. So why do I have a niggling worry about his engagement picture?” Journalist Rachel Johnson wrote for The Mail on Sunday that Markle could help bring "rich and exotic DNA" to the royal family. Rachel, the sister of British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, goes on to describe Markle’s mother as “a dreadlocked African-American lady from the wrong side of the tracks." The Sun ran with “Harry Girl’s on Pornhub” after a clip of her from the television show "Suits" appeared on the adult website. The tabloid later issued an apology. But that did not stop The Sun from running pieces focusing on Markle’s “VERY un-royal family” and comparisons between Markle and Kate Middleton, Prince William’s wife which revolved around Markle’s background, race and past relationships. “seventy years ago, Meghan Markle would have been the kind of woman the Prince would have had for a mistress, not a wife.”....and hasn’t it been reported that William himself asked why Harry had to marry that American girl, or something similar...

That just shows though that the Palace did not follow through their Dignity in the Workplace policy. The original email in 2018 shows serious concerns and it should have been dealt with then, not some 3 years later, a year after meghan has quit and days before a potentially explosive interview. What are they worried she is going to say?

If they have clear policies in place for dealing with discrimination, harassment and bullying, like all workplaces are meant to , by law, there should have been no concerns in undertaking an investigation at the time. The fact that it was reported and not thoroughly investigated casts doubt on the robustness of their HR team in all honesty

For someone that values her privacy so much, she sure spends a lot of time airing her grievances in public. It's hilarious really

I think this is at the heart of what went wrong...
From The Times: The palace knew that when Harry married a woman who was biracial, American and divorced, they had to go out of their way to make sure the marriage was a success: if it was not, the royal household and their supposedly hidebound ways would be blamed. “Everyone knew that the institution would be judged by her happiness,” a source said. “The mistake they made was thinking she wanted to be happy. She wanted to be rejected because she was obsessed with that narrative from day one.” More than one source has expressed their view about her wanting to be a victim. One claimed: “She wanted to be the victim because then she could convince Harry that it was an unbearable experience and they had no choice but to move to America.” .......... While the second paragraph is an opinion (which many share), the first paragraph sounds very logical. So I think that when the palace ‘men in grey suits’ were informed by Meghans communication secretary about the bullying of the females, they protected Meghan by hushing it up and brushing it under the carpet. The senior royals knew nothing about the allegations apparently, thats what their staff is there for. Those staff need to be held to account and as these victims felt bullied and are still suffering from trauma a year later, as they have said, Meghan needs to be held to account. Those females are hardly being forced and coached by the royals to tell a pack of lies now, are they? Meghan is choosing to tell the world her version of events, these girls have the right to tell theirs ahead of what would otherwise be a one - sided view. ..if these are copies of emails that were exchanged 3 years ago then this is reflecting so badly on the Royal household and Royal family as well...they can’t really not investigate now or state that they will conduct that investigation now and it be an independent investigation, I’m not sure who would conduct that tbh..they really are showing a failure to protect...this is important and very serious now but it wasn’t then..?...was William shown the email and no investigation into the accusation...and if there was one then no substance to be found in that investigation....?..if he wasn’t shown them ...then a very serious lacking in work policies and procedures in ‘potential bullying matters must come directly to a Royal member’... so the whole investigation now would need to focus greatly on that as well...I mean, the Royal family do all hold positions of power and we know that such power is frequently abused in many ways in work places...so this is somewhere where policies should be scrutinised to protect and any email such as that, be immediately taken action on...

According to the authors of Finding Freedom, William told his younger brother, “Don’t feel you need to rush this. Take as much time as you need to get to know this girl.” Which is the same with all the other accounts I have read. Maybe for the sake of accuracy, you would like to edit your post? Up to you of course.

I am not saying it did not happen, it might have. However, if it did, and it was known at the time, it seems quite ridiculous to just let it go for years, until now. IMO, as much as people keep saying 'X doesnt reflect well on Meghan' and such, this story, if true, makes 'the palace' look MUCH worse than Meghan does. Because quite simply, they ignored bullying accusations and just kept it as a trump card for the future just incase?! Didn't care about it at all until it could be used as a gotchya. Really. Ontop of this, bullying accusations years on, are not likely to be proven really. At the time, it would have been easier to investigate, and potentially possible to prove, rather than gossip. |

...yeah, I think also that it reflects so badly for the Royal family and household...which is why I’m also thinking that it wasn’t them who had any hand in this being said now, 3 year later, either...
