I just had a look back to see how that episode ended - that would actually have been a GREAT season finale if there was going to be a Season 2

.
Actually now I'm sad that it wasn't. It essentially ends with them taking out Kurt, Dexter's house is burnt down, and Dexter and Harrison have just moved in with Angela ... only for Angela to get the "Jim Lindsay Killed Matt Caldwell" letter as the final scene.
Restuctured a bit, they could
definitely have fleshed out a whole season with Angela slowly figuring out that Dexter is the Bay Harbour Butcher. You could scrap all of the stuff that she learned in the latter part of this season (the drug dealer/ketamine injections etc.) and had it that she had no suspicions about him at all until getting that letter - then she slowly pieces together all of that other stuff in a second season. Meanwhile, Dexter and Harrison stalk + catch another killer, and Harrison is figuring out that he isn't the same and doesn't really want this life. Ending on basically the same episode as it did.
I'd watch it.
