I spent some time with some hippies in Australia. I stayed at her house in a teepee in her garden whilst I was picking fruit.....they'd all painted this teepee on one of their naked retreats....bit mad, but lovely lady....it's a way of life for them
Do you not agree that it's becoming over sexualised in what is promoted as being a 'family friendly environment' though?

It's hard to remember what we'd think as kids being adults now, but im sure seeing a man in a bunny mask walking down the street with his knob out would just frighten kids. It's becoming less about liberation and 'pride' and more about 'sticking it to the man' imo. And the problem is any criticism for the most part is met with cries of homophobia, which isn't the case at all.

Yeah I can't disagree.

The actual meaning of pride is lost, like I say I think it's an excuse for some to just wear outrageous outfits, often for attention and to try get laid. They couldn't care less about the actual meaning of it...it's just a big shag fest party

And the thing is, there is nothing wrong with all the above, as long as it's done away from kids and not on public streets, there'd be no issue. But when that kind of thing is promoted as family friendly, and kids are being exposed to sex, suggestiveness (in a very real form) that's when Pride starts to lose all credibility imo. You have to ask what the ultimate goal is now, what is Pride trying to achieve?!

Yes and no. If you're out to have fun then I see no problem as long as it's not hurting anyone else. I imagine pride means more to older generations who have had to fight more for equality. The meaning of it is often lost. The real meaning is an acceptance and to be able to live without persecution for loving someone of the same sex.

Suggestive sex and nudism are completely different imo...but I don't think either belong in pride marches or pride events.

As for children attending, of course they should. This is where real change happens. Out with the old and in with the new. Newer generations should be taught to be open minded and treat people with respect. It's older generations who are often behind the times and homophobia is steeped in beliefs passed on through parents and generations.....and religion.
