I saw a cooking / baking program a while back and the guy explained that the crust on Cornish pasties and pizza were simply ‘handles’ and were never intended to be eaten … just discarded afterwards

The handles on both are delicious.

Well the Cornish pasties were originally made by the wives of the Cornish miners .. the crusts were just handles and were thrown away after the main part of the pastie was eaten … presumably scavenged by rats .. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Oh you're probably right, Rats do love to scavenge.
