This assumption that women who choose to go into this line of work to support themselves, aren’t thinking properly or that they don’t truly understand what they’re doing and need to be protected from themselves, is a completely backwards mentality and just seeks to further infantilise women and belittle their capabilities to think and behave as individuals, which is ironically the antithesis of the entire point of the feminist movement.
