Initially to piss off my Dad and Brother. They are both big Bolton fans and so by default hated Utd so I made them my team. My friend came round once with a Utd scarf on and our kid set fire to it in the garden

My mum was a Utd fan because she used to go to the games as she fancied Georgie Best (she hated gootball though )

No my Mum was from North London (like a lot of Utd fans lol) but moved up here when she was 6 her Mum is from Newton Heath and my Dad is from near Bolton and his whole family have been Bolton fans forever.

I'm Manc and proud
But yeah...my Dad is a proud Lancashire bloke, sports mad and we were dragged up playing, watching and embracing all sports. If they showed knitting on the Sky Sports channels my Dad would watch it.

My mum classed herself as Manc but she still sounded like a southerner especially when she was mad
