I found that phrasing really weird (surely it would be "ER doctor" or something?) , and never got to the bottom of it but my theory was that she had a PhD , and also worked as an HCA.

In her address Mrs Baker highlighted the excellent achievements of the GCSE and A Level students. With the average of 60% + 5 A*- C with English and Maths passes over the past three years, an extra 30 students per year are achieving this important benchmark. …yeah, that’s what I read as well, that he is a doctor/…as opposed to a care worker who works with elderly people…it’s a general hospital and he works in the geriatric ward …I wasn’t sure at first because his age didn’t feel write with the length of time it would take to specialise …but as Ben pointed out…he would still be a junior doctor , while he was specialising…

Actually if you read further along the thread someone says (they don't back it up with any source but it makes sense as he lives in Dublin :

He is registered with a Internship Registration on the Irish Medical Council's website, it says his qualification is Bachelor of Medicine, Surgery and Obstetrics from Queen's University Of Belfast.
