And I remember the conversation about "straight pride" as I was watching it when it happened. It was a bit tone deaf and ignorant, but hardly homophobic, and I say that as a gay man who had a problem with Kerry's use of the word "gay" as a negative. In a long conversation, Paul ASKED Matty if it would be homophobic for him to say there should or could be a straight pride, then Matty explained to him why a straight pride event isn't really needed but he could have one if he wanted to. Paul didn't use any homophobic language or express anything that was homophobic, he just seemed a bit out of touch.
