He and the government should be looking to get much closer to the EU.
I think it would do him the world of good.

It certainly couldn't I'd guess make things worse.

It's ridiculous that after leaving the EU, that all this time on, we still haven't achieved an anywhere right deal.
So I hope he has repaired or is repairing that wrong damage done by Brexit.

I'm fully aware we voted to leave.
Plus it was a legitimate vote to leave.

However HOW to leave was much more open.

Plus one of the main elements of real democracy is that people CAN change their minds and things can then be altered or changed completely.

There shouldn't need to be a referendum to now he part of the single market again.

That question was not asked in the referendum.
However I have a feeling, a good number of those who voted leave nearly 9 years ago
They'd be very worried about another referendum on the EU.

there are many ways we can improve trade and cooperation with europe without rejoining the EU. This all needed time for the people that were involved in brexit to move on (from both sides) so that there can be sensible dialog. We also have a very changed world compared to the time of the brexit vote. The UK need the other countries in europe for our own security and reliable trade. It's much easier to disrupt trade with India and Australia than it is to disrupt trade across the channel

The governments red lines are no return to the single market, customs union or freedom of movement so there won't be any change there. The main thing on trade is expected to be an agreement to ease the movement of food and plant products which will be important to a lot of people but won't make much difference to the country as a whole. It will also likely mean aligning with the EU's regulations which won't be very popular with everyone
