I've seen Kirk talk about this at Cambridge and his argument is that there is the ritual law, the ceremonial law and the moral law and Christians are only bound to the moral law which Christ affirms in the New Testament, not the other two which are prevalent in the Old Testament because Christ brought a new covenant between God and mankind
