I do know what you’re talking about though. I would say a wood burning stove is more a ‘posh’ thing now though (in England/Wales). Not that it’s a bad thing, they are marvellous.

That's weird, they're a fairly normal thing to have over here - outside of the cities I suppose, most newer houses don't even have chimneys anymore but that's an environmental decision i think

…in new builds, are wood burners a fairly standard thing for the home to have…?…

In housing estates you mean? Not anymore as I said above most new builds aren't allowed to have a chimneys anymore for environmental reasons but lots of people would have them in not so new builds or would have replaced open fires with wood burning stoves
