it is sad when they go but we had our last dog for 14 years so that's a good long life she had. It can be tying but tbh most of the time when we go places, it's places a dog could go anyway, plus we still have our adult son at home and he loves dogs so he's always handy to have on call. His g/f is baby sitting for us tonight as we're going to see Rhod Gilbert
