If you're obsessed with the looks of a prospective partner, then it's a fairly safe assumption that you're quite vain about your own appearance - like attracts like.

Looks only matter as much as you put them on a pedestal. I only get excited about people with a personality I like; there are plenty of superficially attractive people out there.
