You are missing 2 crucial distinctions.

1. the age of the victim

2. the method by which the perp gained access and trust of victim

This is not just a random attack rape, that is what you seem to be alluding to.

The lawyer made the case regarding her low-self esteem/weight for a good reason.

People can become easy targets for a number of reasons LT, because they're over weight, because they're young, because they're too trusting or naive, because they're not very good looking etc. that still does not make them to blame or at fault in any way, shape or form
