I've watched the X factor again this morning and while Cher dod good at the auditions, ruling out and making allowances for her throat problem, she did really badly at Cheryl's house, she didn't perform at all, not even after 2 attempts and then didn't try again.

No professional judge or mentor would take a risk on that happening at the 'live' shows, I think the throat problem was maybe overrated trying to get a bye through to the finals but really, the pressures of the time at Judges houses has I fear been too much for Cher and she simply is not up to the pressures of a show like this ,yet.

At the auditions, its a one off start, you can really go for it, after that largely you are in a big group of largely supportive other acts and hopefuls. Once at the Judges house the pressure begins.
I think Cheryl will oput her thorugh which is massively unfair to all the others who sang their hearts out but in the 'live' shows if she does this again she will be hammered by Louis and Simon and someone ready for it will have nissed out.

I liked the uniqueness of her first audition but since then she's been pretty poor. I really didnt like her version of Viva la Vida and her stupid "rap" lyrics that she wrote herself at the beggining. I've only just had a chance to see her peformance last night and she really doesnt deserve to get through imo. She probably has one of the worst voices out of the six of them and she isn't even that great a performer with the wierd facial expressions and dancing. She'll probably get through though, that was pretty much guranteed after her first audition no matter how badly she messed up since.

I initially loved her but the more I listen to that first audition and her voice i'm not impressed.Her voice is too girly and whiny. I think the huge impact she made just came from the fact that she sang something different. She's not that great really. If she makes it people will get tired of her trying out her raping skills on the show instead of just getting on with it.

As usual your blind loyalty to your fave has meant you missed the point of my post.

Forgettable? He made the final, still signed, he's still making records, and doing his own thing. Not a record label puppet like other X-Factor and AI winners.

The point I was trying to make was that he was a hip hop crossover artist but he HAD talent your girl Cher has NONE. I've just watched her dismal showing from last night and, frankly, if she makes it thru then the whole show is a farce and she was destined to go thru from her first audition. The way she was staring down the piano player acting like it was his fault was particularly grim. If she makes it thru then I give her 3 weeks before she has a breakdown on stage. She's not good enough, she's not ready, she's not tough enough, she lacks the raw talent and the technique to back up that talent. She's living of the uniqueness of her first audition. Everything since that has been poor. She's a waste of time.

Nobody's saying he's "like Cher", the idea of a rapper on the show to 'bring something different' is what's being compared. Also, he made the final, so calling him forgettable and a flop is a bit of an exaggeration, surely...?

Anyway, I think it's perfectly clear that Cher is a one trick pony, I've come to terms with the fact that at least four talented singers who gave it their all at Cheryl's house are going to go home disappointed because of Cher; so now I'm looking forward to seeing her get voted out of the competition

She's still young and finding her groove. Point is, she is trying to be creative and not just singing note for note covers like the rest. I dont mind karaoke but its nice to have a couple of less predictable contenders in the mix. And Im willing to sacrifice a better voice for it too.

I'd 100% agree with you if Cher had a voice that could hold a tune; but she can't even do that. She visibly fell apart in front of Cheryl and will.i.am and I'm fully expecting it to happen again on the live shows. That, compounded with the
