2.Its a question of having dealt with drama putting it to the side and moving on, life is exactly the same, you will become embittered if you always dwell on past battles and view everyone with suspicion.

3.Look at the circumstances of those infractions.

What else can people do if they cant see Mods active on the forum? They know some mods are there but because the mods are "invisible" ro non staff they cant PM so they get fustrated and feel they have to post on the forum.

4.Yes I think you are misreading the forum, there may be less of those you view as troublemakers posting on the forums. The cliques are still there, it may just be because one of the group of cliques has staff as members.

Lets face it there were members on here accusing another member of what is classed as an international crime, yet mods just stood by and watched, yes I know the member was warned he even posted how he had only been warned. Just like a couple of nights ago another member even stated that people had deliberately ganged up against someone who recently copped for a ban.

Funny how that comment and a few others were deleted, but not by the member posting it, aint it. Of course there is no conspiracy but lets face it staff here dont like to be questioed or challenged on their decisions do they, thats at least an infraction isnt it?
1. People HARDLY ever talk to us, I'll take the time to try and sort out any problems but people would rather have a bitch on the forums then actually sort the problems out. I rarely get any PMs from members sicne they'll go straight to the 'raging about it in the forums' stage. That's my view and 9 times out of 10 it's pretty much the truth. Audiences aren't needed to sort out the kind of problems people complain about on the forums and we can't actually unfairly punish anyone as all our actions are posted in the Towers automatically. I've said this so many times but of course people won't actually pay attention to it sicne they can't let go of a reason to bitch.

2. I wouldn't say i'm bitter at all, In the past I've had big arguments with people on the forums and the next minute I've helped them with mod business as if nothing has happened. Dezzy as a member and Dezzy as a mod are two different things. I don't hold onto any problems I have with people as a mod, I'll admit lately I've been harsher with people as a mod but if I'm honest I was too much of a soft touch in the past anyway. That being said I'll always have time for the people who PM me.

3. I rarely pay attention to whether someone's online or not as they'll answer a PM eventually anyway. Impatience isn't a valid reason to break a rule.

4. At the end of the day the quantity of reports are always a good way to gauge the mood of the forum and the past few days have seen the least I've ever seen while being a mod on this site. Aside from the one or two threads the place has calmed down considerably by the large.

I'm not quite sure about these incidents you've mentioned, it's all a bit vague but I'm guessing I wasn't logged on when they happened.

As for your last point, I love to be challenged, it keeps me on my toes as a moderator but there's a place to do that and it's over PM. If people really want to talk to me about something they can do it there and I'll always be full & frank with them. Of course like I said before a fair few members would rather have an audience to perform to rather then actually sort out the problem at hand.

Its not really about playing to an audience, its about venting, fustration, guilt anger etc, wouldnt it just be better to let them vent off, issue a warning by PM and delete the angry response post? That way it saves an angry reponse incurring a further infraction or ban, which obviously will do nothing to defuse some situations.

The only times some people(especially me) have been infracted is when they lets say arent quite in command of their faculties, (yeah I suppose you could say shouldnt come onto the forum half cut - like yeah people will listen to that one). So I cop an infraction I want someone to yell at. Its human nature.

Notice I used the word fustration when you get an infraction you get a PM from an unnamed source, obviously its an automated system to help reduce staff workloads and you dont really have any immediate target to respond back to (yes I used the word target deliberately) because of this people respond against the system.

If there was a way to reply to an inbox that could be more regularly monitored by all staff, it would probably help alleviate the angry posts. Or an appeal system that was laid down.

See in the modern clime people receive things immediately so they expect immediate responses to their challenges, how about adding an extra line to the infraction notification about who to appeal against the infraction and a time limit for a decision?

One of the worst changes from the old forum was the fact members could see when someone had been warned, now with the infraction system people cant see when someone has received an infraction so in their eyes they see people getting away with things and thats where some of the 'different treatment' syndrome has come from.

Is there no way old Jimmy could use some of his techno ability and make or add some module that give indications that people had been infracted, they dont really need to see the extent or reasons just the fact that things were not let slip past?

The problem with this is the people I'm talking about will still blow up over a warning as they'll see it as an attack. There's no reasoning with these people. There are some exceptions I'll admit where I'll do my best to answer questions within the thread as locking/infracting/deleting will just lead to two more threads in it's place and so on and so forth. The problem is though 99% of the time these threads turn rotten as you'll get people who can't accept infractions even if it's been explained and they ruin it for everyone else. If it wasn't for the minority I think discussions of mod related business would be allowed on the forum it's just that with some people can't face upto the consequences of their actions and blame everyone but theirselves so it creates more trouble for us. There's no helping the people who'll blast off about it as they want to cause drama.

I understand what you're getting at but rules are rules really, we can't make exeptions for being drunk as everyone would use that defense to get out of trouble.

On the appeal thing you can always PM a mod and get a second opinion, I've done it a lot for people and although the result isn't what you always want we still take the time to go over it. Also when an infraction is handed out a thread is automatically created in Tibb Towers where mods often discuss it and there's been a fair few times where it's lead to an infraction being overturned as we've realised we made a mistake and such.

One piece of advice for the Tibb Staff thing though would be to ask a Mod about it directly in a PM rather then going through the Tibb Staff account as only a few people can use it. It's not a perfect system but it allows us to mod quicker and gets things sorted out more efficiently.

We're still members at the end of the day and no member is online 24/7, we all have to wait for responses some time. Saying who gave out an infraction wouldn't allow that mod to respond any quicker. Like I said before, ask any mod and we'll look over it. I won't tell people who gave out what infractions though unless they were given out by me though. You've got some decent ideas though.

The infraction system has it's faults but I think it's got a lot of strengths too, I like the privacy aspect of it personally. It might annoy people if they want to know the state of other people's points but I think it should be upto that person to divulge the information if they wish. I can understand it might be annoying to people as they might think nothing has been done but if we made infractions public some people would abuse it. Again you can always ask a mod by PM if you want to know if any action has been taken, we won't give details but we can at least say we've done something.

The morale of the story here is PM'ing us solves a lot of problems.

I had a dream about Patrick last night.

He wanted to kiss me, but I wouldn't let him.

His lips were so wet, and he nearly did, but I pulled away.

I'm actually being really serious too.

My dreams were so weird last night. I woke up and went to back to bed a couple of times so ended up having more than one dream.
