yes it was, and unlike the germans, which at least have a healthy respect for history, we do often see brits on not only this forum, but all over the internet, having reverence for their own attempt at genocide in the world, in fact the british colonial genocide against native americans, carribeans, south americans, australians, indians africans etc, is far worse than anything Hitler ever did against the homosexuals, disabled, and jews during the "holocaust".

Add then the slave trade they spread through the America's, and there's no comparison. Hitler wishes he could have inflicted so much suffering as british colonialism.

You know, this is going to be a VERY controversial view, but I really dont get people who get so upset by things that happened absolutely ages ago. like, if it came out that for example, the polish had enslaved britain 2000 years ago, I wouldnt get pissed about it now and bring it up at every oppertunity just(seemingly) to score points :S

Having an Empire wasnt an "excuse" for anything, countries were Colonised for trade and economic purposes primarily, and so we could continue to compete with nations worldwide, possessing an Empire wasnt exclusive to Britain you know.

Of course the actions of the British Imperialism were reprehensible, although they weren't considered to be by the standards of the time, but Britons do not exactly revere the Empire, far from it I would say.

no dear, i'm not rattled, i'm just too lazy to confirm all that you say. I appreciate yur list, which i doubt you compiled yourself, you obviously cut/pasted it from some one else who actually did the work, but like i said befopre you posted it, i want this thread to get back on track.
