See, this is what made me start the thread. When I started secondary school - I had no idea what subjects to chose, no idea what I wanted - then ended up tinkering with Law (and then much later, did psychology - for nothing more than interest rather than as a career - too old at that point anyhow).

I still think it must take a very dedicated, very focused person who can decide and follow that through into adulthood and beyond. (and if that comes across as partonising to you, it's not meant to - I'm conscious that I don't know what age you are!). I still think it's a hard call to make - and often, it's not until you've actually tried working in a particular field that you realise "what I wanted, isn't what I enjoy".
