Oh you wanted purely american places, ok then how about inverness, Elgin dundee, Glasgow, edinburgh Scott county, Caledonia, Scotland, Scotland County, Livingston, Midlothian.
There is a New Scotland in New York, there are Scotlands in South Dakota, Virginia, North Carolina, Missouri, Connecticut and Pennsylvania there is also a Scotia in New York to name but a few.
There are at least 10 Cardiffs..... want me to go on?
Just because you are unaware of their existance because they dont have the prominence of other place names does mean they dont exist.
