Study after study shows that people can be unhealthy but look "normal".

You arn't paying attention.

Your argument is that fat people cost you money, well so does everyone else,. and looking "fat" does not make you unhealthy.

this is turning ugly, so i'm not going to continue for much longer, but the fact is, this is about demonizing people because you don't like how they look. period, end of sentence. No different to racism.
No one here is 'targeting' them. We are discussing our beliefs towards it. And it is different to racism as one can easily change it. No one can change their race but people can change their size, ergo not in the realms or same category as racism.

I'd really like to hear Pyramid explain how anyone has insulted him on a personal level. I don't know anything about you personally, so how could i target you personally??

I"m very curious to know the answer to that lol.

ummm,. no that's not true at all. Anyone with any knowledge at all would know that that is complete crap to say that it's EASY to change your size. I have several members of my family that suffer from obesity, and it's no different to addiction.

The fact that you can say it's EASY to change it is complete and utter crap. IN fact it's easier to have your skin bleached than it is to over come obesity, so your statement is crap.

Ask any medical professional how easy it is to overcome obesity. Educate yourself plz.

Excuse me. It is impossible to change your race. We are not talking skin colour, colour does not change race and its rather ignorant that you think it does. You clearly are narrow minded and thinking of just white and black, what about asians (the majority of people on the world are asian and you disregard them as a race?). Overcoming obesity is easy in comparison to changing race. All it takes is will power and determination, everyone possesses it but some just can't be bothered.

And I am sure you would tell a drug addict to go to rehab, so why not send these so called people with 'addictions' to a fat camp?

Once again your ignorance comes into play. There is more to Pyramid than her gender so you could still easily 'personally' attack her. One doesn't have to know every detail about a person to attack them on a personal level.

I am not saying you are in the slightest though. I haven't even read your guys posts because I don't care to be honest.

Are you mental?

Not once in my thread does it mention skinny people or the fact fat people are all unhealthy. I was specifically referring to OBESE people.

Let me try to explain this to our more simple minded forum members who think that FAT people are a burden on the NHS...

Please explain to me how a fat person that dies age 65 is BURDEN on the NHS compared to the SKINNY person who dies aged 95?? That means that skinny people use an extra 30 years of NHS services than fat people.

Skinny people put MORE burden on the NHS, not fat people. IF as you say fat people are unhealthy and die earlier, then you say that they put MORE burden on the NHS when they die younger??

Simples math should tell you otherwise.

Obviously, if someone is dying at a younger age, that is LESS burden on the NHS.

Why is it these people can't do simple math???

Be nice lostalex to fellow members, it's called a bit of respect that us 'simple minded' folk over in the UK like to afford one another.

Anyhow: I'll bite.

I hate to point out the obvious errors in your calculations above: who is saying that skinny people between the ages of 66-95 even require anything from the NHS - at all.

Many are very healthy and need no treatment whatsoever because they have eaten the right things, because they have exercised and taken care of their body, inside and out. Give or take the odd annual flu jab.

Most obese people have breathing difficulties and require several types of medications, as well as meds to prevent DVT etc, and that's not taking into account the treatment for their heart attacks, operations for heart bypasses etc, meds for their heart conditions due to the excess stress their obesity places on the internal organs, high blood pressure, wasted attempts at gastric bypass operations, gastric band operations - all before they get to the magic 65 then pop their clogs.

All in all, I'd say the skinnies still cost less.

Are gastric bands on the NHS? I thought they were a private thing.

Yes re NHS, if conditions are met - and it depends on how good your doctor is, consultant, bla bla bla

http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/weight-...roduction.aspx

Also: Boob jobs (implants as well as reductions, and augmentations) are also done on the NHS but that's another discussion thread altogether.

maybe it's different in the UK, but in the US it's recommended that everyone get a yearly check up.

Mabye you should consider checking what actually takes place in the UK and how the NHS funds are utilised, before slating the hell out of [sic] the more simple minded forum members [sic] who do in fact live in this country and have far more knowledge on our own NHS than you appear to think you have.

Fat people know the score,if that is how they want to be that is their choice, they aren't hurting anyone, while I take Pyramids point of view I also take Jedward Fevers point there are hundreds of things draining our resources, some of which are far worse that people overeating,I have seen someone almost destroyed by 'fat' jibes there really is no need for it,if you don't like that extra skin, say nothing it's not your problem, just get on with your own lives,I have friends fat and thin as long as we get on who cares?not I.

Suggest you read the words that I actually put together, one word after another - and not randomly mix up those words, to re-assemble them into the bizarrely fashioned quoted words that you have used in your post above.

I don't think that joking about someone's weight/looks would help them at all, it could only make things worse. I used to be overweight and I was really unhappy because I tried to lose weight so many times, and I finally did it last year when I lost more than 70 pounds in 6 months. It wasn't easy, but I'm more than satisfied now.

The thing is people who are overweight are overweight because they eat too much . There is generally is an emotion that is attached to food, low self esteem, depressed etc. Smokers have things they attach fags to after eating, with a coffee, etc. Drinking booze is associated with socialising and can also be attached to people's emotions. The trouble with food is part of life and its is a lot harder to control than the latter two things has you have to eat to live, I think overweight people should cure the problem then they can cure the overeating.
As for Frank Skinner didnt he have his own addiction demons, pot and kettle spring to mind.

Hi Tmi !!

That's fine...if there is some psychological reason for the addiction. But that is not the case for all fat/obese people.

Those who are fat / obsese get that way, not through addiction: but down to eating too much of the wrong things, and not enough exercise.

Pretending that being fat and obese people get that way due to only an addiction is complete denial of the truth: MOST fat people are fat due consuming more calories than they burn.

We've (you and I) have had this convo many times over and I know it's one that we end up agreeing to disagree.

To Vladimir - excellent job and well done indeed. You did something about it and all credit to you for that.
