No I definitely would not... and I don't think its something we should encourage either; I have a hard enough time dealing with people who go to the cinema in their own as I really want to sit beside them, so I certainly don't want to feel obliged to go and dance with some strange lass!

Actually, to those who have done this, or would do it, would you actually go and dance in your own? Or wills you just stand at the nae and watch people? ... oh dear I feel uncomfortable just thinking about it!

If you find people you know do you pretend you're out with other people and got lost or do you just say you're out on your own?

I couldn't go cinema on my own either, but then I'm one of those annoying people who doesn't shut up through the film (and then gets annoyed when other people won't shut up)

I dunno because I have never done it, not round clubs anyway. I would though, which was my answer to the thread

I would probably just say I had fancied a look out to see if anyone was about.

I don't really see the problem with going to the cinema on your own tbh, not like it's a really social thing and with the lights out you won't even be able to tell who's with who or whatever

I know there's nothing wrong with it...I just always feel terrible when I see people sitting on their own in the cinema, I honestly want to go and sit next to them, and i know that they're very likely as happy as Larry but then I also worry that they maybe haven't got any friends.

The last time I was at the cinema there was a wee old man sitting on his own with his crisps and juice,I got it into my head that he was there on his own because his wife had died and he didn't have anybody else to go with... I couldn't enjoy myself for thinking about it! In reality he was probably there to escape a nagging old bat if a wife and was having a great time to himself.

Haha nah I know what you mean, I remember going to watch a film with some of my friends and there was an old bloke just sitting on the end of a row on his ow, felt really sorry for him for some reason even though I bet he was much happier on his own then when I went and sat down next to him
